I can only imagine what it must be when your turbo kicks at 4500rpm.

A very addictive experience. Heading up to the Tail of the Dragon tomorrow morning.

Should also do a torque graph too.

I'm thinking I better hit the dyno soon. LOL. Before I get dropped..

Did you experience power increase all the way to 35 degrees, or was it more of an exercise of how much advance could be tolerated without knock?

Or maybe, power was flat after say 28 degrees?

Clearly I need to do something about that top end... When I did that chart I was actually running a lot more timing, but didn't have a knock counter/V-knock at the time, and not surprisingly was changing head gaskets a lot. Since then I've added the knock counter and v-knock and lowered the timing quite a bit to keep the knock count down. Water/meth injection helps to add back some timing, but still not as much as I was running when I did that dyno. I'm plotting a course to give E85 a shot, since a few enviro-friendly alt fuel stations have sprung up fairly close to me over the last year or two... Stay tuned!

One question though -- how can you be sure you're knock counter is actually working if you don't get any counts at all? My first counter went bad a while back. After a day of driving around with a 0 on the counter, I knew something was up. On E85, do you still get a few random counts off boost etc to at least know the counter is working?

Definitely more power after 28 degrees, it got better all the way to 35 degrees. I did not feel confident going higher and even backed off a bit as I am not monitoring EGT. I am running an ultra stroker however.

Still very impressive power numbers Tom.

I get occasional knock counts when shifting, generally down shifting. If I drove around town for 15 minutes or so with no knock counts I would get suspicious something was wrong.

Got a brief email back from my tuner today. He said he tried advancing ign past peak tq and didn't see any worthwhile gains so just dialled it back due to racecar loads on motor. fwiw

I am guessing your cam plays a big role in this.
