Met with a great shop yesterday who will be CNC machining the first oil pan casting asap. They do a lot of high end race car fabrication and are confident that the oil pan machining and welding will work well. We'll find out soon!

The new goal for Alan and I is to bring a working 07K 944 to 944Fest this year. Barring some sort of major setback, we think that is attainable.
Here are some pics of the first production bellhousing. Fitment is great, mounting flange is nice and flat, and starter works. Now we make 20 of them! Finally...
Btw, this one is just spray bombed... the ones we deliver will be powder coated.
@vt951 that oil filter & cooler adapter.... I know we went over the specifics a while ago but I've since forgot 😅
That thing looks GREAT by the way!
The oil filter sandwich plate is Canton 22-545. It’s just the right diameter for iAbed’s oil block and has the right thread for a 1.8T oil filter that I suspect iAbed intended to go there. The oil cooler line ports are 1/2” NPT so I will probably get -10AN adapters from them to run large lines to a front mounted cooler.

BTW, Mike is documenting all of the parts numbers as he orders everything needed for his build, and that will go on his site and mine.
I would recommend a sandwich adapter with built-in thermostat as in the factory 951 oil filter console, which allows the engine to warm up more quickly.
I got a Mocal-branded one from here for my Jensen-Healey project (don't ask), and it works well:
