Yeah, we will see. If they're too stiff, it should be easy enough to swap in something else.

I actually already did design the crossmember to fit the stock 944/951 motor mounts as well. Those mounts will require different brackets for the 07K, though. I did it because I thought there might be some 944/951 guys who would want a 3-piece crossmember for easier oil pan removal.

PowerFlex makes some mounts for bmw's that are adjustable (http://www.bimmerworld.com/Engine/En...46-E9X-M3.html). They look like they might fit, but are pretty spendy at $400, so I personally would rather start with a more reasonable option and see if it will work.

Does the G25 series turbo you are using have an internal wastegate or would you run an external wastegate like the 951 does? I have a Tial 38 and adapter plates from my turbo car and was going to sell it if it did not work in this application. Also please put me down as a definite for the bellhousing group buy if not too late.
Thanks! As far as the engine harness, you should not need that, except... You may want to hang onto the starter and alternator connections, and 12V pos. and neg. cables if they are in good shape. If you're going to throw out the engine harness, I suggest you cut off the connector and a pigtail for the oil pressure and coolant temps (which plug into a little connector on the firewall near the clutch master cylinder). If you want to sell the 944 engine harness or use it on another car, all of these connections can be made easily enough.

The G25 turbo does not have an internal wastegate. The exhaust manifold I'm using (from SPA) has a wastegate port with the 38mm bolt spacing.

Not too late to get in on the bellhousing group buy. I am still waiting to hear back from Quick Time on my design, so we are not locked into anything yet. I will PM you the group buy down payment info.

Thanks,
Alan

Thanks, I'll look into that. It might not be quite as tight as it looks... I modeled that elbow a little oversized. If it ends up chaffing, I'll look at doing what you said.

Default Quick Time Bellhousings Group Buy Update

Almost ready to pull the trigger, but they are asking if I can buy 10 for the first run. So far I think we have 7 people including myself. If anyone is on the fence... this would be a great time to jump in.

Here's a preliminary detailed drawing for the new Quick Time 944 07K bellhousing. We're close to releasing the first part for test fitting in my car.

Do you know the price of your 3-piece crossmember? Any idea on production time line?

I'm going to build one first and test fit it in my car. I would guess I’ll have that done within a month, so by late July. Then i can start looking at a small production run if anyone is interested. I don’t know what the cost will be yet. Don’t hold me to it, but hoping in the $500-$600 range. It really depends on volume though.

Been checking in here for quite a while and each time I come around, I thought, geez, this has been going on a long time, is one of these guys gonna finally get this done.....ever...?

But these things take time and it's admirable what you are doing (notably Alan and Alex).

It looks like you finally even have the wall of secrecy crumbling with your dedication to unlocking another avenue for all the fans and lovers of these great cars.

Hats off to you guys,

T

Thanks man, I appreciate the support. It’s been a fun process, but has been taking basically all of my free time for months. I’m really looking forward to getting the design done and bolting these parts into my car.

That's the ancient 1980s 5 cylinder, there have been several put into 944s.

this thread is the 2000s vintage VW group 2.5 5 cylinder, a completely different engine.

I spoke with Quick Time again today, and should have their pricing sometime this week.
