I was talking with one of the guys on campus who has a Jetta with the 07k, he was saying valve springs & head studs would be a good first step to a build; are performance cams even available for this engine? Last I checked there was like, one option and that's it.

I managed to get something done other than waiting for warm weather . I just need to come up with the money for the intake and ECU / harness .

Looking good! Guess you are using a returnless regulator?

I am looking at a couple different regulators right now . I will be running a return line back to my surge tank . I also have a couple part numbers for anybody that wants to replace the small and large idler wheels on the belt setup .

I went ahead and sent Kappadapt an email to see if we can buy a batch of their fittings so we can try to guarantee availability.
So I ordered the eBay one and it seems to fit fine. If Kappadapt isn't making them anymore you could probably work out a deal with the eBay seller. They matched the sale price of the Kappadapt one.

Good to know, thanks! We are also making our own to have available, or at least before this news we were.

Thanks!!! A lot of R&D before i got involved but I’m going to take some credit anyway haha.

Not yet, it will likely be all YouTube but we may make an account on AudiZine and document it there?

We bought one of the eBay ones as well, and it looks like it should work. Nice find! I think we will hold off on making these for now. If anyone has issues getting one from this eBay seller, let us know, and we can make a batch if necessary.

eBay one on left, Kappadapt on right:

Default Lower Sumps

Gents, Alan and I were not getting the results we wanted doing the zinc plating ourselves. After discussing with Cerakote to confirm the coating is good for internal engine components we decided to Cerakote the inside and outside of the lower sumps, which turned out great! However, it is extremely labor intensive for us and in the end we decided to outsource the coating of the lower sumps to a local zinc plating company.

With all that being said, we have 4 lower sumps that are black cerakoted (pictures below). We did 5 but I took one of them. Would any of you prefer black cerakote before we pay to have them blasted and zinc plated?

I'll take a black one as well.

No concerns of chipping or flaking like a powder coat could?

Brian
