Looking forward to the charts. Very interesting project indeed. Would be great to see some egt data and igntion values too.
Sid, I expect they're using an engine dyno and do static measurements.

Right guys, I have finally finished the revised engine build. Has you know I had a little trouble with number one big end bearing, maybe it from revving it to 8000 rpm, oil temp to high or possibly to tight a tolerance. Anyway I had to decide what I was trying to achieve, the car is mainly going to be used on the road with standard gearbox etc. so I did not really need 700 plus horsepower and huge torque. So having read various threads and comments I decide to go a different route.

I have turned the engine back to three litre, I've taken the compression ratio up to nine to one and have mapped the engine using the Garrett stage five turbo(T350 exhaust wheel, 61 inducer and .82 exhaust housing)

This setup as worked really well I think, especially for road use. It should come on boost well and have loads of usable torque. Below is a dyno sheet and plot for your inspection. The last two recorded pulls have different temp and bara readings because the wastegate pipe broke and we finished it the following night.

I still thing a 2.7 engine is a good way to go, especially if you want to rev, but maybe a dry sump system would be advisable.

Cheers Tim

Hi Tim, first of all great numbers and the spool looks great too. I am not sure how the numbers relate to rolling road figures but all the same its impressive. I like the way you just 'simply' took it out to 3.0! Are you using the standard 944 S2 head, did you change anything and what boost are you maxing out at?

I sent you a PM

26 psi... What timing do you have at peak torque?

Interesting, thanks, this is about what I have at 4k rpm but only running 18psi (8V engine).

Have you not considered running much more timing and less boost?

Really nice....except the oil pressure, I wouldn't be really happy with those numbers.

Hi Chris, On the dyno we run a gauge above the engine which is clear and easy to see while running the engine. This gauge was showing close to four bar at 110 degrees, the problem we have is the feed to the console as a restrictor in it and this then take time for it to rise on screen. You can see at 5000 rpm ish the oil pressure is 57psi, we were probably holding it at them revs for a bit longer which aloud the screen to catch up.

Extremely impressive tq Tim! Curve would be the wrong descriptor for that line!!
Love the boost ramp from 2550 - 2740 :-)

I'm very impressed. I'm amazed that a t-350 wheel flows that much..

I'm curious as I've never Dynod a turbo engine on the dyno, to haw it compared to loading it on the road?

Makes me second guess (once again) not going with a 16v

Incredible torque flat line across the rev range, nice job! The oil pressure also looked worrisome to me, but you all ready covered that with Chris. If you are not happy with this on the street then you better switch platforms. Should be a killer ride.
