Its going well. We got it started late last week. First crank and it was up and running. i did have to remove the intake again as i had a small coolant leak at the turbo coolant inlet. a new washer fixed that.
Hooked up a wideband and boost gauge in the cabin and took it for a drive. The vitesse tune was pretty spot on.You can feel the extra torque from the 3.0ltr straight away. We ran it in for a few km's before turning the boost up to 15psi. The first run was in 3rd gear, straight road with 295 Rspec tires. traction broke around 3500rpm. This thing has some *****. Although its power delivery is different from our own 2.5l 8v vitesse stage 3. The 2.5 wants to make all this midrange power and then start to taper up top, the 3.0l 16v makes power everywhere, then as you start to rev it it just makes more and more and more. We have taken it up to 6000rpm its its not letting off yet. We should get it to the dyno in the next few weeks. Next week we are installing a 60/80 modena LSD.

Spenser, thew heat shielding is made by ACL, it comes in a sheet and you have to shape it. its great stuff

Great work, looks great too!
3.0l 16v turbo's are very, very nice driving machines. Power everywhere with a top end that just pulls and pulls. No more tractor engine with just torque and no power

Thanks Duke,
As soon as we get another SFR intake our own engine will be going in. essentially the same setup. How is the green hunter coming along. when do you plan on the engine swap to the new car

The hunter is actually being parted out: crying:
Probably won't start on the new car until later this year so unfortunately no track time this season.

Geez lookey all those Motons just lying around! How does Nick's car feel with his Motons installed Sean?

If I ever get back to the track you'll be flying past me with my lowly 'Tractor engine' lol.

Duke, as you can see, package 'A' arrived at Sean's all bubble wrapped.

We will give package B another try, third time for the win!
Lol we should have revised the specs for tractor pulling

The countess is being parted since it's the best way of getting some of the $ back. Sad, but it's for a good cause

Thats a shame, but ultimately for a good purpose. Cant wait to see some more of the new car you have.

Actually i am quite surprised how good the suspension feels. i have the settings on recommended start settings, i think it was 4 clicks from full soft bump and rebound. as you know its running 750 front and 850 rear torsion delete. i was thinking it was going to be on the hard side.

We could always just install the motons on half of your car Patrick, which way would you like to corner faster

'Tis indeed a sad day that the Hunter is parted out.
Probably in many people's top 5 fave 951 list!!

That's really promising Sean. Good to hear.
Make it so the front is faster than the rear. Always best to be moving forwards.

Tim should hurry up and send that intake that he's been promising for 8 weeks!!!!!

So we are getting close to completing Niks 3.0ltr twin cam conversion. The engine is done and tuned, the suspension is complete, the brakes are done and bedded in. The guards have been rolled to accept the 11" rear 295's. all that is left is a gearbox overhaul and 60/80 LSD install.

Also a few pics of the 044 pump and Proflow fittings

im almost afraid to ask how much that diff was

Hi Spencer,
that shouldnt be a problem. i had already removed the gear set before reading your post. I will take pics along the way. there are a few things that you may not be able to do yourself. such as pinion preload and pinion depth, as well as diff preload and backlash. we have the special tools here that are needed. again i will post pics of the process.
