What ECU are you running this through and any dyno results?

This is worrying. I purchased a Mahle Powerpack set 100.5 last year for my engine rebuid and the coating looks exactly like yours, but I think it's thiner then the one Voith has. Some time ago Lart had 3 used 100.5 Mahle Powerpak piston for sala. Wonder what happened with the forth?

Did a quick search and I find another guy who installed an powerpak piston set in his 911 back in 2012 and had the same issue with the coating.
The interesting thing it's that all this problems happened in Europe. Could be this problem caused by the fuel? The engine oil? or the coating itself. I know that some car manufacturers had had problems with nikasil coating beacause of the fuel.

The set I had was from batch that user Ski had custom made with mahle usa 10 years ago. Afaik no failures of those were posted here and Jon Milledge built some engines with them also.
Maybe coating was different somehow.

Great work Shawn. These 16v motors seem very responsive and give very good power to psi results. I have spoken to another guy who has put together a 16V race motor and saw 400whp/ft-lb @ 6psi. Regardless of dyno differences clearly you and Gustaf and others have shown that these 16v motors are a great place to start!

Three Wheelin'
It’s been a loooong time since anyone has bumped this thread so here it is I have a pretty badly spun rod bearing 1993 968 motor I just took apart on all 4 rod journals there prob not gonna clean up for porsche oem oversize #2 maybe 1&4 but 2&3 are gone. All the main bearing journals look great
so this 968 crank would be a perfect rod mod stroker build with custom rods and the small bearings.
$450 shipped conus for this 968 crank thanks and please pm me if interested have a great summer with those projects gentlemen
