Others may have had good sucess with Centerforce, but I didn't and that wasn't on a real high hp motor. It may have been the Kevlar disc, but on my centerforce the PP didn't make even contact with the disc.

I've heard of complaints re the Spec product but not of the Centerforce. Hmm, about to install a KepII and Centerforce 6 puk. Feeling good...

Keep in mind my problem with Centerforce was the PP. It did not wear evenly across the face. I can't remember now whether it was the inside or outside so the Centerforce disc might be perfectly good.

I have the KEP I and it came out at 10,000 miles due to a broken guide sleeve ratling. PP and disc ( a South Bend dual friction disc) all look great. The disc barely looks worn.

Thanks Dan. My KepII is also at least 4 years old and I feel confidant that it is not one of these problematic ones. I'll move forward on this.

Ialways said how great the Spec clutches I had in multiple cars cars were, no one listened. Now I have my day of glory and laugh at all those people who said the kep stuff was so great.

hmm...i've had a KEPII in my car since...2004? no problems yet (fingers crossed). car was a daily driver.

I have a KEP I and a Feramic disc from South Bend Clutch Company and have not had any problems to date. I calculated that with the coefficient of friction of the Feramic, disc diameter, and ft/lbs of pressure of the KEP I should hold ~700ft/lbs torque.

Man, I would think the slave cylinder seals would burst long before the clutch fork would break!! I would for one rather replace slave cylinders than tear into that clutch again....already did it 3 times!!

well until i read this thread i didn't realise there was any need to be crossing my fingers!

in hindsight i would have gone with the KEP-I, but being the idiot that i am i didn't realise there was a I and a II, and i didn't spec it when i bought from paragon (i think they usually carry the II, but will get the I if you ask for it). i only realised once it showed up and i'd paid some heinous import duty and gst on it.

nice! i'm hoping to see my car sometime this year (actually i will, in about a week. yay!)

In all fairness, he fixed it for free.

However, my fork IMMEDIATELY broke.
My opinion is that the geniuses "fixed" it by changing the tensile strength of the forks.
Yes, this does mean TWO back-to-back clutch jobs, 11 miles apart.

Carlito can tell you what that was like, I am too disgusted with them.
