Here's few calipers after re-coting process. One pair is Tommy's Big Black's & 951 rears and another two pairs are Pete's and mine GT2 front/GT3 rear calipers.

Hey Olli can you give us an impression of the differences between these brakes and you last setup? What was your last setup too?
Thanks

Can't do that, because my car is still project. Hope i will get it ready for next summer. Pete's car is ready and according to him GT2 front / GT3 rear is much better than S4 front / 951 rear setup he had earlier.
Here's Pete's car:

Olli can you check that link. All I got was a lot of Finnish...no really it didn't work.
Thanks.
PS I remeber your link about the brake upgrades. In a nutshell was it a difficult upgrade and do you need a certain sized offset to run these calipers?

With right parts and some innovative mind work (Mostly Pete's ) it's quite straight forward process. The front calipers will need 18" wheels, unfortunately even with them you have to find suitable ones.

Very clean looking car. I like the yellow with the silver grey of the body. With the 18" wheels having to be 'right' is that an offset issue?

Yes you should have right offset also with 18" wheels. For example Pete tried 18" Eta Beta Krones but with those there were clearance problem.
Actually Pete's car is not silver, it's Flamingo red metallic.

It's partly an offset issue, but mostly ( with Krones ) it was about 3-piece wheel and how these pieces were attached together. That bolt circle contacted calipers. If you look how 996's with similar brakes are equipped ( with wheels ) you can't go wrong. I did this comparison ast winter in a garage located in Austrian ski resort...they had somekind of a winter driving event there, few Lambos , BMWs and lots of Porsches. I drove there from München with an Audi A6 3.0 Avant tdi Quattro, very nice car indeed...my daughters insisted that we should buy one too...

Back to wheels: 5-spoke Carrera wheels fit ( like mine ), Sport Classic IIs fit, 10- spoke GT3 wheels fit,GT3 RS wheels fit, then there's BBS LMs ( which I like very much!! ). I'd recommend either Porsche Originals or BBSs.

Thanks.

Raj, I don't know, but I'd really like to try... I almost got one set ( lost that auction, went for €1800,- without tires ), and then I bought those Krones. If estimated from the pictures I'd say that they'd fit...it was only matter of 2 mms...eithre spacers or milling insides of front wheels. That inner shoulder, where bolts that attach rim halves are, just touched caliper's outer edge.

What brakes do you have on your car now? Or are you just talking about the rims? Sorry if I misunderstood, don't want to do that. Just curious? Do you auto-cross the car? Race on the streets? Do you plan on tracking the car?

Just a note on the brake stuff – if you are really tweaking the calipers you will need to get a ‘real’ adjustable bias valve – especially in something like Guns project – with his set up you have a weight change (fore/aft balance) along with bigger rubber. The only way to get that tuned (even if he kept the stock calipers) is to use an adjustable bias controller.

Is there anything inbetween the big reds and these Gt3's as an upgrade?

Actually Pete & i have GT2 fronts and GT3 rears. Mark II GT3 fronts are the same. I suppose the only front caliper inbetween Big Reds and GT2 fronts are Mark I GT3 4-piston front caliper.
