They will be putting them on.
I actually like them. Now when mine flew off while doing 80mph(looked like the batmobile spreading wings) it wasent that fun and the car looks like **** with the black strips showing.
but, that will all be fixed now.

Well **** the car isint quite ready yet. They shot her with the most expensive paint that sikkens makes and clear coat thats 187 bucks a gallon. Only fitting since the paint job on the car was 5k to begin with...they need to match it up. haha.
The exhaust system still needs to be fitted to the car and the side strips still need to be put on. Not only that the car still has to be buffed down and waxed...its very dirty.
So looks lIke because of the holiday I prolly wont have my car till the mid/late next week. Oh well. It will be my new years present to myself. Now that this project is winding down I feel its time to relay the bad news and give the #'s.
First and foremost. I believe this to be the cleanest 968 rear end conversion I have ever seen. I think this job is right on par with the 944s2(also white) cab project we saw a couple years ago. I know that guy spent big bucks, and gosh I suuuuure did.
The hardnose facts. Anyone and I do mean anyone who is contemplating this conversion for your car you must be ready to drop serious coin. This is no cheep conversion to do. The amount of cutting and fabricating needed to do this job and make it like factory is alot. I have seen several conversions done for only a couple grand but, they were pitful compared to this one. I have custom made brackets on each fender wheel welded to the rae bar thats been attached to the a custom seam he welded onto the 944 fenders. Every stride has been taking to make sure everything matches up and looks factory. Both my fender wheels were hacked to **** when this got started The have both been widened a inch on each side to accomidate the seam he created on the edge of the fender itseld. Inside the hatch area has been cross braced and coaked in to fill everything out. He has gone over and covered and hidden everything. It absolutely looks factory and no one could tell different if they saw it in person. The only way you would know its custom is if you ran into someone who knew 951's and knew that wasent the correct rear end. Wyatt but, a eye poping 150hrs of labor into this project and has done a oustanding job.
the fit and finish is truely amazing and the pics dont do it justice. When it gets buffed out and waxed with the exhaust finally fitted I will take some video and more pics next week.
Total project costs
factory 968 rear bumper(none of that fiberglass ****)-$800.00
Lindsey Racing 4inch SS polished exhaust system-$1355.00
Paint and materials including brackets and seam-$1200.00
Labor and know how to get it done right-$5000.00
My total out the door cost for this project was $8355.00.
Having a one of a kind 951= priceless

Is there going to be a black spot where the current exhaust tailpipe comes out and touches the 968 rear? Seems it would have been better to remove the catback before painting.
Anyway, looks superb. Paint the wheels the same color.

No there wont be a black spot they had the cat back off for painting they had it fitted in the pic and up on a lift because the insurance people wanted to see the old exhaust fitted on the car.
They arent coming out of pocket for much of anything. I have already paid a handsome sum out of my own pocket and today got hit with a $2360.00 supplemental for extra labor costs.
It has been a costly project but, the car does look like no other. On the ground looking at it level it looks really wide and squaty.
I will have the car back in my driveway next week. I will give it a good washing and take some pics. Then get some video of the car.
I will post those pics and video in this thread so just look for a updated posting mid/late next week
