yes so much so that I actually made some calls on it. I found for about 30k I could buy a nice turbo 968 that had the level of work I wanted. But, I started thinking about selling my beloved 951 and how many good times I have had with this little car. I mean sure its not very fast but, its very balanced and has great daily driver powerband.

I have taken several trips with this thing as well as done several rally's now. I kind of feel like its a family member. I sold my other porsches but, this one I think I want to keep for good. What can I say its a labor of love.

Besides when its done how many cars will there be like this in the country? 1 or 2 save some of the track cars I have seen in the states. It will really make the car a 1 off piece and thats really pretty cool.

Plus I know the car through and through. I know its history and I have and keep excellent records on the car and so I know what im getting into. With me buying someone else's already completed project for less money I wouldnt have been responsible for the work that went into it ,and wouldnt know nearly as much about it as I do mine. I mean hell I have records on this car all the way back to 91'!

I will be buying more porsches but, this one really has my heart.

besides, the front of the 968 is butt ugly IMO,a 951 front with a 968 rear end looks best.

Maybe if I could get a nice turbo conversion for my 968 it would not be for sale. I heard numbers mentioned around 25K for 3.0 L turbo conversion. I might try to find a wrecked 951 and use the parts to make my own 968 turbo. Any thoughts or wrecked 951s?

honestly I dont think thats the best way. Why not just build your motor with the best and slap on a vitesse turbo kit. the rest will be in tuning and fabbing pipe.

btw I wouldnt expect to turbo a 968 for under 10k....not properly anyways.

the fully built turbo 968's I was looking into had 20k in the car and 20k in the motor/suspension setup

no, I dont think he ever said that. He just said he had 20k in the car as in(selling price) and he had a fully built motor best of everything running a t04e and 14psi. I hered about the car through a friend and got his # that way...I dont even think he is on rennlist but, he might be.

The 968 was black/black.

no, I dont think he ever said that.
I should have been more specific, was it built by Powerhaus? If so I'm pretty certain it's John's midnight blue conversion.

Regards,
Chris

umm might have been. I dont wanna say for sure cause mostly I was asking him maintance questions, why was he selling the car, how much he wanted, how long he had it, ect.

I figured if the guy said the best of everything I could come out there myself and see about the car and ask plenty of questions then...but, I just lost intrest.

Well not really intrest but, I just decided it wasent the route I was going to go. Was the car you are reffering too raced in virgina?

John, what video is that New_sig.JPG picture from??

I have a 968 exhaust tip and hanger if you want it, but I really don't think it would be useful to you as it's not a large-bore exhaust.

Good luck on the project man.

I was racing my friends modded srt4 when he got one of my bigger sized flames on video.

I freeze framed it and made it into a sig which I use on my other board.
