OK, blocked off the line. Still no boost.
WG tube was warm but not hot. Does that make a dfference?
I have no compressor to put pressure on the WG. My buddy has one. Have to get a hold of him.

If it is the rurbo, me and Mr. Lindsey will have some problems. As I said, the compressor looks fine and spins freely, so no objects got sucked in. Would just be a problem with the working of the turbo itself.

If the turbo's axle is broken, the compressor will spin freely...and so does the turbine...
A friend of mine had this with custom-built turbo. ( 26-6 with 27 compressor and larger turbine ) .He broke first a 4mm axle, then 6mm axle and finally the whole engine, but that's a completey different story.
Axles broke ( apparently ) because of a pressure shock caused by bad BOV,boost contol might have assisted this,25-30 PSI was noticed just before the bang. The second bang also caused a bent con rod, which was noticed during first test drive after 3rd turbo re-build ( new 6mm axle and even larger turbine ) when piston #2 wanted to see the world outside the block at 80 mph...

OK, but the car was driving fine when I parked it. Then a few hours later going to the store, right from the get go it was like this.
i.e. Not a pop, or sudden boost loss, etc. Which makes me think it is more likley a code that got thrown and put the car in safety mode. Or some other electrical situation.

ToddK911, You bybassed the cycling valve, there is no way for the DME/KLR to affect bost anymore! At this point you have mechanical boost control (DME/KLR out of the equation).
If your car revs fine (no fuel cut etc..) then look elsewhere. Also safety mode is 1.2bar...
Now, I'm leaning toward a WG problem.. Once it's ruled out things get a bit ugly

"If your car revs fine"
revs fine at idle, but on accel, it is hard to rev. Will only get to about 4K rpm.
Ok, I will have to get a pressure line on the WG.
So just hook up a compressor and about 15-20psi to the WG line ? Will I have to be under the car to know if it opened it or will pressure drop suddenly on the compressor?
There isn't anyway the BOV/DV could get locked some how and not allow any boost to build/flow?

It's just so wierd that the car was fine when pulling into my garage, then a few hours later pulling out, it has no boost.

Sounds like an exhaust related matter there.........

The WG will open with 5-7 psi. If you apply air and then suddenly release it you will hear the WG open and close. If you hear nothing it's stuck open.

Now we are getting somewhere! So do you get intake backfire (pops from intake)?
What happens that you cannot go over 4000rpm? Does the car drives fine then shuts down at 4000rpm? Is it always 4000rpm? [Details help!!!] Can you go over 4000rpm at Part Throttle, WOT?
So, not getting boost is a problem, but also not being able to go over 4000rpm is a problem as well?

Ok, Jason, thanks.
John, I will have to go out and test again to be sure, but it I had the pedel to the floor and was real hard to get to rev. It would probably go past 4K, but the turbo was really loud by then so I kept letting off about 4K.
No, no pops or backfires.
But at idle, it would rev just fine, i.e. no load.

While driving, can you go over 4000rpm at Part Throttle? (no load is needed).
Try the same at WOT....
If you can get over 4000rpm at PT? What happens if you go to WOT over 4000rpm??
