Angry Your Not Gonna Believe This SHI$$ HELP!!

Got the car back recently with the new turbo, etc. Been running super stong!!

Hop in tonight to run to the store, I got NO BOOST and a really loud spooling turbo!!!!!!!!!

Open it up, compressor wheel is fine, spins freely.

No hoses off, no leaks. At least none bad enough to cause NO BOOST.

Un hooked the bat to reset the comp. Still the same.

What can it be????????

HELP!!

Check the BOTTOM of the turbo to intercooler hose, and the 2 small connections at the intercooler. Then check them again.

Do you think that your hi-fi blew your wastegate off?

Well if you have checked all the hoses... Leaky BOV? Though it would have to be a huge leak, you would be able to hear it. What BOV you got? When you say NO bost you actually mean zero psi?

Ok. I just changed the hose from the IC to the intake and the hose from the trubo to IC pipe is brand new. I can check the other as well.

So it is possible this is just a bad boost leak and not the turbo itself????

The turbo is spooling loud, but I don;t think it sounds like it did when it went bad.

It is a new Evo BOV.

Yes, I have 0 psi.

Also, it is hard to get the revs to come up as well. COuld barely get over 3,500rpm while driving/under load. But at idle, I could rev fine and could actually hear the turbo spool while reving at idle.

All kidding aside, it would be worth checking it. I've had a wastegate valve come unscrewed from the diaphragm and get stuck open.

It is probable that it is a leak. You need to physically wrap you fingers aroung those rubber connections, because they will open under boost, then close to normal LOOKING position.

"Do you think that your hi-fi blew your wastegate off?"

Well, my shop, which is closed now of course, mentioned before that sometimes they have seen a Wg get stuck in the open positon. And the turbo just spools real loud and no boost is made as it is all bled off.

As I said, it doesn't sound like it did when the turbo bit it. It is just reall loud spooling and no boost, much like it is all getting dumped somewhere.

If you do have a 60-1 HIFI, that EVO BOV will not be big enough to vent the pressure by the way.

Well, Dave said mine is about the same as their "Super 61" except mine has the #6 hotside.

Okay, well if it wont rev, you may have pulled a code. Check to make sure that ALL harness connections are completely connected. The 951 has a trouble code for a disconnected TPS AND A PARTIALLY DISCONNECTED TPS.
