Ok, i just went for a test run. The numbers and rows are all mixed up on the display. Like I can tell some of the numbers are correct, but they are not organized or in rows. Also, I didnt check if the saved files turn out this way because I didnt know where to find the fiiles, not that I looked to hard. They were not in C. Im sure im just doing something simple wrong.

It is definately worth the effort for everyone to switch to this system, it is sooo much more visually pleasing.

Edit, yes i am using the display

Mark, if you're using the display then the easy way is to add a RJ45 splitter. (You can also cut the end off of the LD01's wire and rig it up, but this is the way I'm doing it) Techedge finally made one available, wasn't when I bought my wb02. Before they released theirs, I searched the internet for hours and finally found this one, FM820 . If you know the basics of networking there's pretty much no reason for this product to be available except for testing. Per the schematics, it looks like it will work perfectly for our needs.

You will have to make a cable. I suggest using a piece of cat 5 and a RJ45 connector. (ie, cut an Ethernet cable in half) Cut it to the appropriate length, then skin the color wire that connects to pin #4. That's 4 from the left side of the connector. Pin # 4 is the linear 5 volt output.

Once you have the wire fabbed. You plug the splitter pig tail into the wb02. Then plug the LD01 in one port and the customized wire into an empty port, the other end will go to your 5volt input. I haven't installed my splitter yet, but I have used the above method to connect it to my Tec3 ECU.

Hmm... doesn't sound good! Can you make a screenshot of the output? (Press print screen on the keyboard, then paste it into Paint or some image editor and save it as a .jpg) It is possible that I put the wrong file online as well. Are numbers just flooding the screen? No rows or columns? I can help more tomorrow.

Also, what may be hapenning is that your resolution is too small and the text box is automatically "word wrapping" the output. Try changing your screen resolution to a higher value ie. 1024x768 or 1280x1024.

I will get back to you tomorrow (Saturday) by 5 pm rennlist time, but until then Im real busy. The screen resolution thing sounds realistic, Im sure the old laptop im using has low resolution.

I will also check to see if the old comlink software works, just to make sure my serial link did not get ruined by moisture or something.

Thanks for the procedure magown, that sounds a little difficult for me. First im gonna get the regular software working...

Ok, I tried to change the resolution, but found my laptop has a max of 600X800, so this could be the issue. And I think im having trouble saving files because I am running the program directly off the cd i burned it into, I cant figure out how to copy it to laptop. I remember I had this problem with the old comlink software as well, anyone remember how to fix it? Anyway, I have a screenshot, im just trying to find a floppy disk to transfer it to my house comp w the internet.

I still cant find a way to transfer data from the laptop to this computer, so I will just type out how a few lines look. And the comlink software is working fine, so its not that my equipiament is bad.

23 0 43 9 59 500 97 24 0 29 88 24 0 06 76 24 0 34

another line looks like this

PS OY AF VE GA ZO 96 40 23 49 0 39 23 49 72 44 23 etc

Mark, hooking up the Tech edge is not that hard, PM me when you're ready and I'll walk you through it over the phone.

I just checked the program again at 800x600 and this is what I get. Mark are you getting that on the screen or in the log file? BTW: The program saves the log file to C:\log1.txt, log2.txt, etc. regardless of where you run the program from. To copy a file just right click it and select copy, then paste it where ever you want to put it. See if you can get that screen shot so I can figure out your problem.

Has anyone else tried the program?

heres the best "screenshot" i can come up with at the moment.

Im goint to best buy for some new floppy disks now tho, so hopefully they will allow me to transfer data. This shot was taken at the beginning, when it is the most organized, aka it almost looks right.

Could the problem be that I do not have the tech edge unit hooked up yet and im supposed to?

The program will work without the WBO2 hooked up. I can't imagine that there would be a difference in AFMLink output signals but that is almost what it looks like... When you get some disks, see if you can get a screen shot of the ComLink output as well.

Has anyone else tried it?

Also, see if you can post a log file of both.
