p0wp0w and cantresjr were you able to sort out your OCX and other problems? This program will work for all AFMLink boxes and a Serial Link.

You can download MSCOMDLG32.OCX here save it to C:\windows\system\
Then go to Run and type regsvr32.exe mscomdlg32.ocx and press enter.
Then try the program again.
Like I said before, this will be sorted out when I finish a real release of the program.

Alright I'll see if that allows me to save tomorrow and post up results.

Thanks CPT

p0wp0w-
The program only saves to c:\log1.txt, log2.txt, etc. for now... You must click 'New Run' --> 'Begin Logging' for it to save. Have you run it with it hooked up to the computer running the program? Did you get a meaningful display?

Yeah i found the log1.txt etc but they are blank. I'll try it again tommorrow though, but also when I go to save options it shows that error message I posted earlier. It does show meaningful display though.

Well that's pretty good news Pow. I guess Mark's problem is specialized, but we really won't know until 10+ are able to try the proggie. The project may be paused until I can rebuild my engine (read "Rod Bearing Failure?"). But I can still fix bugs and such without the car if others can be on the testing committee.

I will be interested in using/paying for the program and helping out, but my map setup isnt in yet, I have to wait for my j-pipe to come back from getting powder coated, then im gonna install. I dont have the serial link yet either so I guess i should buy that. I really have no idea how to begin to tune with this setup so any advice would be a great help.

Karbokane-
The first thing would be to get a Serial Link. You could make one for about $5... It is just a RS-232 to TTL logic converter. Once you get to the tuning stage, I (and many others) will be able to help you.

I am not sure if i am connecting the wires correctly. The purple(rpm or relay) extra wire on the map harness I took off and put it where the white(O2) wire should have been then I tapped that wire into my dme on the o2 sensor wire instead of using the yellow/red (AFM wire) as indicated by my instructions. Im not sure now what to do with the afm wire? And what is all this about the 1.8 resistor? Should I install it now? thanks a million. Ill post pics if I can figure out how.

Dude, I think this is the greatest thing you helping people out while satisfying your own curiosity. I am in for a share of your reg. costs and if I had a map setup installed I'd try to help, but I dont.

Is there anybody else out there who can give him another data-point?

P.S., how many 911 owners would go through this?

Ok, i downloaded it and when i tried to run .exe got this message:

Component 'MSCOMM32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered:a file is missing or invalid.

How can i fix this, i'm very interested in trying this.

TIA

You'll want to put the files in c:\windows\system32, not c:\windows\system (or c:\winnt\system32 if you're running win2000 etc.)
