Just looked at this 1987 928 with approx. 55k miles. 5-speed, newer rebuilt engine. Needs some TLC and You would have a great car. Owner is 74 years old and has owned the car since new. He's asking $32,000. I said if You get $15, 000 take it!
The seats could indicate the mileage is correct.
I always wonder what 'rebuilt engine' means. Timing belt changed? Valve job? The engine would not normally need a full tear down, fancy Alusil cylinder honing, etc. for at least another 200K miles...or more.
Slant nose, that's funny. Also, in the pic of the driver's seat, on the floor, the brown package looks like a couple sticks of dynamite. He ought to clean his "excellent" car of dirt and explosive materials before taking pics for Craig's List.

It is also "Very fast"... I would imagine so with a V6 engine (see ad details on right of page). LOL
In all seriousness, the early S4s with manual are quite rare... personally I would love to find one here in Europe with that milage, as they are generally cheaper than a GT but I think they built less S4 in manual prior to GT release (may stand corrected).
Hey Steve! What happened to those photos of the Venetian Blue 87 5-speed?
I happen to agree with you about the price... It has suddenly become an ultra soft market and with a cracked dash and all of those paint scuffs, it will take $20 grand and a ton of love to make the car worth $30,000. I would not pay more than $15k for it either. In fact, in this market, $12,500 is about right with unknown engine repairs...
That said, 88 5-speed is a pretty fabulous car. I had a Venetian Blue 88 5-speed with a sand interior - that was a sweetheart of a car! Drove it relentlessly!

He got all hurty by my comment when I said there wasn't enough info and he was dreaming; He sent me a nasty PM, and got personal. So I guess he took his ball (he edited his post and removed stuff) and went home; So jej3 posted the link and after seeing the add'l info, I rather agree with him and you. Now he says I'm an attention ***** (second PM). Yes, I'm paraphrasing a PM publicly to remove the offensive, if that is breaking protocol re a PM, I take exception to his profanity. So I publicly apologize to Steve Hoyt, for my public post, but I do think he is a little sensitive. I don't know what is going on behind the keyboard there.
