Range Rover - "I believe the low mileage GTS is actually from CA (it was offered by a few dealers last year, and I guess was sold to someone from TX)."
Sotheby's says it was owned by a Doctor from Beverly Hills for 20 years and then an "entrepreneur" in Texas. Has Texas Plates on it now per report from friend who just saw it at Monterey.
Hope it was not a situation where the good Dr. smacked something and then hid the car in his garage for 19 years and finally offed it for somebody else to repair.
Every car has a story!
Some are better than others!
Some can be straightened out.
Some I do not want to hear...

I have no personal knowledge of this particular 4k mile GTS at Sotheby's, but as these cars get more expensive it is important to remember the digital odometers are not "absolute 100%" representations of mileage. There's a great thread on this right here: digital odometer programming Also the word of any auction house isn't worth much once you plow through their disclaimer language.

Latest on BaT. Another nice black over black S4. This time a 34K S4 auto. These do really well over there. This should eclipse $30K no problem. I've never seen those leather flag mirror protectors before. Looks good.
Beware that odometer on the BaT '87. Says it was replaced, so there's unaccounted mileage for sure. And of course there's no way to tell many miles the non-working prior one accumulated even with a reasonable Carfax trail.
FWIW - The 4,231 mile GTS at RM Monterey sold for $140,000...
I had the car looked over by an expert with live video feed in hand and we found some issues with the nose of the car having evidence of a lite collision and some bodywork.
Hopefully the new owner will get things straightened out and get all those lightly corroded pieces brought up to the standard of the spectacular interior.
