Looks like the fraudulent 78 is back!! Mileage has been changed back, no pics of interior or engine, but same description. Radio delete, never smoked in....etc....etc. don't trust!!
1980 928
Figured it would end up on here, So i'll post it. With Snowbird season coming around I figured I had better put it up. I love this car, but I need the room for my other projects as of now, and this is the car I have the least attachment too.
When I get serious about selling the car I'll post on more than CL, but maybe someone is looking for this car ASAP.
I will be getting another 928 once my schedule frees up.

Yep. And he is also advertising it in Orange County.
It is an interesting one Mike. Ad says timing belt failure 500 miles ago with no bent valves. Maybe some of the experts can explain that. Could there still be residual issues with it? Only 500 miles since the incident may not be enough to know whether there were other issues. Maybe it is not running right. Who knows.

Here’s the way I think this...

However, I don’t understand enough about 928s, or cars in general, to rewrite the original submission without introducing outright error or adding additional confusion while removing the submitter’s errors and converting to Auction Speak.
The quote is ‘failure of the previous part’ as if the only part replaced in a belt service is the belt which then failed after two years. There’s so much wrong in that quote that it would take paragraphs to explain. If you were to put a gun to my head and demand an opinion I would opine: cheap-a$$ rebuilt water pump failed after two years and xxxx miles. That’s based only on the quote and the question ‘why no bent valve?’ Or, maybe, previous belt (installed so poorly that it) began shredding after 500 miles and Thank God we caught it and replaced it (just as poorly) with a Gates Racing belt.
Of course I have NOT looked, at all, at the info that’s in the three auction pages about this one. Some kind of answer might be in there.
Prospective buyers should commission a leak down test.
Mike, That 80 looks great^^take a couple of minutes and post of more pics of your 80 here...can't hurt. T
Posted for you Tony. Only major issue i'm having is do I keep the tools in the kit? If I don't than I am not an official previous 928 owner.
I don't think I can explain enough to the new owner how hard that screw driver was to locate.
