The tool is 928 361 311 00 and listed "hook for cover wheel nut" in PET on the 924/944/968 cars but not listed for 928's at all.
Yet it starts with a 928 number, funny. Good job tracking that one down, I can go kayaking now at Weeki Wachee and just concentrate on the gators instead of that stupid little hook tool..LOL!
I guess it's back to "928s For Sale" again!
Happy Sunday,
Dave

Jeannie, more coffee please.....Sorry, but you have me confused, are you saying the earlier metal caps, or the late plastic caps didn't have holes?
Happy Sunday Morning,
Dave
Sorry I have been busy diagnosing a dropped intake valve on a 993 engine with no obvious signs of failure leading to a factory defective part.
A day late but the early crested caps are metal and have no holes my 93 C2, 93 GTS and 94 turbo all have them and wore the gold lettered metal center caps without holes. In late 94-95 they switched to the same cap with black lettering PORSCHE instead of gold. I don't know if they switched to black lettering in 95 as they did with the 993.
I have the hook tool in my turbo tool kit as well which came stock for the lock cap removal.
93 GTS and 94 turbo center caps for reference. Hard to see but the lug above the crest first pic has the cap for the locks without the hook tool they are hard to get to.

Hi Anthony,
Always a first time for everything, in all my years I have never seen a Porsche 928 Center Cap without holes before(hundreds and hundreds)...or maybe I just never noticed. I do know there were some aftermarket centers out there without holes. IIRC Brad at BW Motorsports did some custom inlaid centers for us for a few years using factory center caps..
I need to pay more attention to the holes!! Cool stuff and thanks for sharing (and the education)
