If anyone is interested in a '94 GTS automatic that's 110% mechanically sound (as in better than new), this GTS

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...strong-er.html

is in my shop right now getting some odds and ends tended to.

It is quietly for sale.

For those with TL;DR syndrome:
- 94 GTS Auto, White on Cashmere
- ~52k-miles
- engine out refresh by Greg Brown in 2016
- Full head job
- Missing oil drain holes in pistons no longer missing thanks to Greg
- All engine bits new/re-plated/clean-enough to eat off of.
- Black Sea's SuperClamp

I have not done my full-day over-under inspection on it. I might be able to find something mechanically in need. But, I doubt it. Factory orange peel is present on all panels so I'm pretty sure it's a no-accident GTS.

It's not going to end up on BaT anytime soon. Asking $85k.

If anyone is interested PM me and I'll put you in touch with the owner.

Stupid mobile app won’t let me modify the post.

This car was sold. But.... now it’s not. I guess people can’t just do what they say they will do.

The car car is in primer. Body work extensively done including rear ott fenders. Proper procedure. No ghosting though final paint layer is up to you.

Everything mechanical including a rebuilt trans (auto) but Greg. Brakes, rebuilt bilsteins. Eibachs. Ball joints. Bearings front and rear.

Newer leather recovered seats seats front and rear.

TB including all seals. Torque tube has the English clamp on it.

Dash cracks and rear interior quarters stripped.

100s of man hours in this car. Shaved front sprayers. Headers. Kens chips and larger injectors. Crazy fast.

Steering rack bushings. Top end rebuild with new rubber and MAF....

Jesus. It’s been restored. 86k miles.

In primer. 20k obo. Look at what I wrote closely. I can provide many more pics.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I check my cars and none have the indented space in the plastic for the hook, even the '90. Is there a place in the plastic on your cars? Maybe it's only for GTs and GTS??

Zach, my 91 GT doesn’t have the spot for the cap removal tool. I had one in my glove box when I bought the GT.

Didn’t he just buy this car about a year ago?

Very nice and exceptional car indeed but I don't get this that factory paint has orange peel. Or really not much.
Maybe comparing to today super cars, the classic Porsches paint (from the '70s at least) are not as nice but most Porsche car's paint are very, very nice.
Perfect to me AFAIC for a factory paint. New and older cars.

Most common new vehicles have orange peel. And often a lot…
Not Porsche and all high end cars.

At least, not to my old eyes.

What's wrong with orange peel? I like it better on a single stage paint than just a completely flat coat.

My 90 GT in Guards Red is definitely all original paint and definitely has lots of orange peel.

On several occasions people in gas stations and elsewhere have stopped me to say things like, "that is is the most amazing paint I have ever seen."

Could be that the metallics don't have orange peel on our 928s, I have never really looked. But the single stages definitely do.

The hook is to remove the caps from the wheel locks and can be purchased from Porsche. They also used a longer key for the GTS with a hook built in to do the same thing.

Yeah. He had planned to drive it in the summer when he's up here (he winters down South). He's had to re-evaluate his plans. His collection of very nice cars is for sale. But, in his words "not a fire sale."

Note that I'm not passing 'judgement' on orange peel. It's just a fact that
- many (perhaps most or all) Porsches in those days had a characteristic orange peel where many other German cars didn't and
- that panels that have been resprayed typically do not have that orange peel.
