Very nice car indeed.

Both front seats have been re dyed or re done I think.
Nice job but they forgot to redo the piping!
Look at the difference between the back and front seats.
The back seats have lighter blue piping. Not the front ones.

And the oil pressure is quite low at idle. Gauge and/or sensor maybe…

Beautiful car.

That '93 GTS appears to me to have Brembo monoblock front calipers - I didn't realize they made their way onto 928s first - always thought the 986 was the first production Porsche to employ this "technology" in '97. Interesting.

928's started with them mid way through 1986 production.

I have never seen a Porsche of this vintage with the holes in the caps especially the colored crested caps. I know my two 93 and 1 94 all came with the caps pictured.

The 928GTS received the big blacks in 1992 along with the 1992 964 turbo S lightweight in red. They were later fitted to the 94 turbo 3.6 and then the 993 turbo in red or custom colors. AFAIK they were never fitted to the 986.

Those "Big Black and Red" calipers were not Brembo Monoblocks (single piece) but 2 piece (bolted) calipers. The picture in the ad appeared to me as a monoblock at first, but, upon closer examination are 2 piece. Thanks.

I like the Horizon blue it reminds me of 1979 Heilblau,
I will guess the GTS needs an intake refresh.
The oil pressure does look a bit low maybe it has 10W 40 in it,
since its an auto the engine has seen a lot less stress compared to a 5 speed.
Flex plate check should be done before purchase

I think the confusion here is between fixed and floating calipers. Prior to 86.5 the 928 had 2-piece floating calipers. For 86.5+ the 928 had fixed, non-floating 1-piece calipers. Yes, the single piece was composed of two halves very-firmly bolted together as opposed to later Brembos where the entire caliper was machined from a single block of alloy. These days, with the size of calipers for high-end performance cars approaching that of an entire Yugo, rigidity of the caliper can't be maintained without both sides being 'tied together' at the top - over the pad - as part of the single alloy block. And thus, why also, on modern Porsches the calipers have to be removed to replace pads. And since the wheel knuckles to which the calipers bolt are aluminum they are good for a small handful of pad replacements before they're stripped. And thus, caliper studs are a frequent mod...

It is getting to the point if the car is tracked we won't change pads unless the owner installs the studs first. The kits aren't cheap. A Turbo S stripped out its bolts on track the other day. Better to do it early before you damage the upright and have to install a time sert or helicoil. We are also finding that some shops are using never seize on the bolts which only accelerates the failure.

The GTS in Horizon is a great color on these. I noticed it has the broken tabs on the sunroof motor cover and I am seeing more and more of these without the rear storage cover and hold down webbing. It appears these get lost over time.

I also notice that his GTS has silver crested caps I have only seen on D90's with the two holes. Were these the stock caps vs the painted crests XD4 I posted?

Nice Euro OB in my favorite color. Cloth seats redone but look good from the pics. Needs refreshing but probably worth a look.
