But it is great seeing these cars finally bringing the $$$$
I agree.
I hope ex-Bill's Euro is still treating you right?

Bill's car is doing fine. Have probably only put 300 miles on it since you last saw it. But still looks great and starts right up

Not to be nit-picky but A/C work could easily turn into a $3k repair bill by itself.

I tend not to care much about A/C when buying classic cars these days. Unless there is a recent repair bill showing everything has been addressed, I assume that even if it works today it could stop working tomorrow and turn into a huge bill.

Same with tires, I'd rather buy a sorted car that only needs tires and buy what I want versus paying more for the car because the seller dropped $1k or more on tires in the last year.

88 silver/burgundy 5speed in auction is also on Craigslist for $32k
This one's been for sale on PCA for a long time.
I contacted the seller a couple of months ago about it.
He hasn't had it long and there is absolutely zero service history.
Pretty color combo though.

I'm going to leave the car looking like this, take a picture of it, and ask a premium.

Nate - as to that BaT red 1980 Euro posting - interesting car. Just a couple of clarifications from the BaT thread - that front S4 style cover is not an easy change out - the front fenders were cut to accommodate it, so you are looking at the front bumper cover and two front fenders. Also, to Alex's comment, the spoilers became standard in 83 with the S model, not 84. I also wonder what type of air filter is in that box - very strange looking. A K&N does not fit like that.Whoever opened the bidding at $15K is going to win that car. I think that's all the money for that car. It's not a twin dizzy 300 +hp car, but has power specs similar to a US car with the federalization mods made. It will be fun to watch and see what happens with it.

yes to all of the above...then add correct front fender brackets, spoiler intakes, spoiler ducts, etc. The fenders were probably off (see fender bolts) for some reason which is not required for the S4 bumper hack, they can be cut in place..ask me how I know....so the upgrade could have been result of an accident. I saw this car on Facebook before the BAT auction and I talked to the owner for about 45 mins, he seemed like a genuine guy and sounded like he was open about the good and the bad with the car...kind of new to 928s but a seasoned car guy at least. He only owned the car about a year or less and was asking 20K at the time. A lot of people are OK with the S4 bumper, but even though I did a few of these conversions many years ago I now group that activity in with other regrettable follies of my 20s...I would HAVE to correct it now. I’m liking these CIS S cars recently and thought this was a great example to sort out...this is a classic 80s Porsche color combo I happen to like but; bumper, fenders, transmission, the unknown miles, plus fixing everything they all need, plus fixing everything ever touched by whoever did the air box, red hoses, etc. maxed me out around half the opening bid.
