Hey folks,
Life changes have caused me to have to part with my 1982 5-speed. I have it listed on craigslist with pics here:
https://harrisburg.craigslist.org/ct...615530362.html
I have it listed for $5k, but if I know its going to a good home, I will take $4k for it.
It's an older car and needs some work. Still runs strong, but I don't have the time to keep up with it any more.
Call or text 717-329-719six - Jeff

Obligatory: He nicely powder coated the intake and cam covers, but he lost the jump post cover. Tsk, Tsk.

Now at a dealer asking $10k more.... Many cars seem to bounce around between dealers all over the country looking for a real end user/collector/maybe even investor.
When a dealer no longer has it in inventory people "assume" it was sold and they might figure the market has spoken.....

I've had some interesting back and forth with the seller on this one. The seller appears to also be the mechanic who works on the car. The write up and receipts showed a timing belt job done last in 2011. The receipts showed a tension replacement done last year, and I asked why wouldn't one also do the whole timing belt job at that time. The seller then responded that they swapped out the timing belt recently, when re-doing a leaky cam seal; they've now uploaded that receipt. Seems that it is a piece-mil timing belt job done over the course of a year or so, and only certain things were done - the job does not include the rollers and associated components (unless they were done but not itemized). The repair bill does not reflect these additional parts. Also, probably the original water pump, since no mention of that ever being replaced. Maybe it's fine. Thoughts? It is a beautiful example, and even though the shop costs are very low, I'm not sure that I am wholly confident in the service history on the belt job. This may be a great shop for 928s, maybe somebody down that way can chime in if they know.

EDIT: in looking at the receipts, itt looks like the rollers etc were done back in 2002, but there have not been a lot of miles put on it since, so perhaps the thought was no need to replace those parts, since unlike a rubber belt, they are more miles dependent rather than time dependent. In other words, maybe there was no need to load up new rollers and bits if they were fine. Curious as to what Stan, Sean and Greg think about that.

Default 1986.5 Original red/black

First time I have tried to list a car - so my apologies if I'm doin' it wrong!?
Nice original 1986.5 car with 113K miles. Late car with S4 chassis, suspension, and brakes. Automatic with LS differential. Original Guards Red paint and black leather seats. Cracks starting on vinyl dash, otherwise nice. Original Blaupunkt Monterey radio. Few chips here and there on original paint. Runs well. Records from 1992. Belt job at 103K. Tires at 107K. Last year I did plugs, wires, fuel injectors - and have driven it about 200 miles since!! A/C needs a charge, still some pressure on system, but no cold air. Windows and sunroof work well, though. Had to put a new battery in to drive it last night but loved it. So many cars, so little time - something has to go, and this spends most of its time in the garage. Local 928 expert looked at it and said it was a nice, original, not hit, not modified car, should be worth $20K. So, $18,000 or best offer, and I will sell the car!

Yes Steve G. this 86.5 is North of Detroit.
The owner Ron is a long time P-Car guy and has a few nice examples in 356 and 911 flavors, one was even featured in Panorama, however he also likes and has a few 928's in various project states.
I've known Ron for several years now, great guy and he is an active member of our local PCA "SEMPCA", heard he was selling a 928, he brought this one to our local GTG this past Wednesday night and I/we got a good look at the car, it's everything he said. "Great example of a non-molested 86.5 Auto". Only thing missing was the 14 pin cover, everything else is right where it should be
I'f anyone wants a PPI I'm sure we can arrange one at one of our local Indy's.

Good luck w/ your sale Ron, our toy box is full !

I went to test drive this one. It started and the engine ran good but the clutch pedal hit the floor and never came back. No test drive. The car is 45 minutes away from my house. I have a trailer and know I can fix it. The add says 47,000 miles but the odometer is broken. True miles unknown. The wheels and tires are in good shape but not right for the car. The interior is rough but can be fixed up. The paint is a respray but it looks really good. The front spoiler doesn't fit right. I like the fact that is has sunroof, body side molding delete and it's a 5 speed. No way it's worth $7800.00 though. I'm thinking $4500?

This car is right near me, no affiliation. It’s nice, I’ve seen it at local car shows. Really good price, Canadian bucks too!
