Nate
It's in my garage so feel free to ask me any questions.

I have no service history on it. I bought it as a project knowing that I would have to do all the required work. I let it sit on the lift in the garage for over a year and then decided to finally take it in for the timing belt and water pump. Belt broke on the way to the shop. I think I have put less that 100 miles on it since I owned it. Most of those miles were getting it back home the day I bought it. The interior is in great shape. The exterior needs a paintless dent remover for a couple small things, then a good detail. The overall quality is why I went for it. If I had the time, I might tear it apart myself and work on it, but I am just too busy. Plus, I would like the lift to free up. The previous owner got it from his dad is 2007 who bought it back in 1994.

Thanks,
David

That's Monopoly money there for that car! Beautiful, but the seller/dealer/mechanic was offering it up for $20k in BIN price the first 12 hrs of ebay. He probably figured correctly with all the inquiries that he removed the BIN and let the auction run.

Beautiful color with a nice interior/low mileage will get people's heart pumping.

Great to see collectors out there starting to open their purse for the 928s.

Not sure what you guys (Mike and Hoi - can no longer do quotes on this GD site) are referring to at 35K, but I was referring to the weinrot car which I see is at $18K right now.

I thought too Mike was referring to the Weinrot car, but he was actually talking about that low mileage mocha brown '81 on ebay. It hit >$35k overnight. Beating myself up for not buying it outright at $20 on first day. Seller pulled the listing today (was actually due tomorrow) when the last biddng hit >$37k!

AC doesn't even work and sunroof was messy.

Seems to be a 928 frenzy going on......Will the mocha car appear in another venue soon?? or somebody playing games ? or someone offered $40k to pull the listing because he had to have it?

I think you're right in that someone made an offer the seller cannot refused. European buyers are going crazy! I contacted the seller (I had been in touch on and off for almost 1 year) and he stopped taking inquiries on the car after the first day on eBay and lifted the BIN option. Smart. Funny how he put it up on eBay 1 year ago and couldn't get more than $19k for it and didn't meet reserve. 12 months later, price doubled!

That's awesome! Hold onto the 928 guys. Buy on the way up!

If I remember correctly, the BUY IT NOW option on Ebay listings automatically disappears after the first bid is received.

Not true. BIN is always there unless the bids are higher than the BIN price or seller removes it.

Wow! I think that '79 auto will be another benchmark car that pushes market prices up even farther! Does anyone know what the asking price is?

Why anyone would want to sell such a stunning example is beyond me.

This one has been discussed here recently. Up for sale on a few other venues and now testing the shark infested waters of BaT. '91 Widebody S4 XX8.

Ah yes. All the completely useless extra (non-)ground wires.

The red 79 at Churchill is listed for just a tick under $37K.
