You COULD leave the cleaning and powder-coating until you got it home.

Not really.

I have the greatest of respect for people who can take these cars apart, and put them back together better than before, and you know that BC's travails are the stuff of legend here on Rennlist.

The two in my care are both down at the moment (one with engine issues, the other wanting only an exhaust repair), partly because I simply cannot find the time to spend on them.

... and I'm pretty sure that I work slower than BC.

Lol.

Leeroy must go on to new caretakers when this journey through the center of oc is done.

Powdercoating is dead, long live powdercoating!

Someday the whole tale of Leroy with pictures would make a good magazine article.

Leeroy is at Greg's. When I can find the time, I will figure out what needs to be done to acquire the parts needed. There is generous offer from someone to go get a box out of a 928 up north from me.

Totally willing to lend a hand when this goes down. I don't have much to contribute except beer and a set of hands but I'd love the learning process and I'd try not to make a mess

What's Leeroy's status? Last I remember it needs a new transmission, or usable parts for one.

There's one in San Diego for $150, G28/03 113 2890. I think that's an early model.

I did as well, you can reference me so that he knows there's not more than one buyer.

When a transmission is found, I'd be more than happy to pull off the top cover and see what I can see....before installation. There's an amazing amount to be learned about transmission condition, by just looking and touching.

I'd even be willing to do this one Saturday morning.....for anyone that wants to learn a bit.

I'd also be happy to provide a lift, the tools, and supervise a transmission swap class on that same Saturday, if the transmission is worth the time to install.

I bought that transmission. 140 bucks.

Same one I looked at 5 years ago on a whim. He recognized me. He mentioned his price is very low comparatively to others he sees. I said all he needed to remember is that someone has looked at this trans only twice. And it was me both times. Not a large market, another words.

So I'll haul it up to Greg, where leeroy still and pepper can decide how they will use Greg's beyond generous offer of space, some time, experience, ect.

To be very honest I am not sure how viable the rest of the car is. Engine has leaks. Clutch is newer - I had just done it, and driving the next day this input assembly broke on the current trans.
