Low Profile Fan Shroud

The first prototype shrouds cam in yesterday for evaluation. Its amazing how much lighter they are than the plastic frames.
I have assembled the part made from 0.06" aluminum, and it seems to really stiffen up with the fans and snouts attached. It may not be necessary to use the .08" that I originally specified.
I ran out of rubber flaps, so going to pick some up later this afternoon, and then I will post pictures.
All my spare radiators are at the shop, so I wont be able to test fit until this afternoon.... hope I didnt screw anything up in the drawings.

Attached are a couple quick pictures. Turned out pretty good. There are a couple things I am going to tweak, but should be ready to go as soon as manufacturing partners get me in the queue. I will try and get better pictures in the daylight tomorrow.

Thanks Greg for the kind words. If its something you would like to evaluate, would be glad to send one out to you. What I really like about it, is that it clears the cooler lines. I have test fitted it on my 89 auto (both coolers connected) and it really can be installed and removed in about 2minutes. You can also crank the engine with a standard breaker bar with no interference with the fans.
Only thing left that I want to try and clean up is the wiring. I would like to include some additional holes for the press-in cable ties, and try and find a nice way to make a single quick-connect plug located somewhere near the top of the shroud to make it even faster. I think with something like a 4-pin weatherpack connector, removal time go go down to 30-seconds or so.
I have a meeting with the Jiffy-Tite people next week at PRI to try and get good pricing on fittings for the replacement radiators I am having made. The goal will be to try and make the entire radiator cartridge removable without any fluid loss in a couple minutes.

Nice.
For anyone that hasn't been able to do it...I will say that when you do a timing belt/water pump etc and can mess around with the front of the engine knowing you can pull the fan assembly out in a matter of minutes you will be very happy. This will make that Tbelt job SO much more "enjoyable"
