Thank you for your kind offer. I know the cost of having plastic parts made, and If i can use your air scoops I will - that could allow you higher production quantity numbers and perhaps help you lower your per-piece price.

I should have the prototypes tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to go pick them up today. Next time there is an opening, I will try and print you one for evaluation. Those early parts are great, but one day they will run out.
In regards to the dual 10" fan, had you considered a one-piece design, like below. I just whipped this up in a few minutes using the posted spec sheet and the geometry from the shroud I modeled, so its a bit crude.

That's a sweet piece on paper.
Remember you have to clear late-model oil coolers below the rad, and one or two integral oil coolers on each side, and provide for the EGR filter.
Hans - I note from your drawings that your cold air scoops seem to have an angle to them. That makes them early 16v models. The air scoop/funnel changed on the late model cars to a more straight shape. Perhaps you are designing two styles, and I am only seeing one?

I finally had a chance to get the new snouts yesterday. Pictures posted below.
Also, there is a prototype shroud underway. The flat stock has already been lasered, and it is in the process of being bent now. I think I may have an assembled unit as early as next week for testing.
So hopefully this option will be available soon.

After taking a look at them in person, I found a couple things I want to change. I reduced the wall thickness by .5mm and it flexes a bit more than I would like. I am going to go increase the thickness in the flat section, and then flare the junction inside the mouth a bit for better flow.
It is so nice to be able to actually hold a part for validation before committing to tooling.
I should have some spare parts to send your way as a sample soon if you want to take a look.

I have Revision5 of the "S4 compatible" intake snout designed, and it looks to be the final version. The last parts I printed in black were very nice, but after holding them, I saw room for improvement, so the production parts will use those, but the first prototype will get the Revision4 units.
I have two shrouds being built now from two different vendors to compare the process.
I also have the matching radiator being made, which I am quite excited about. It will be incredibly close to OE dimensions. The reason I say close, not exact, is I have opted to go with a *slightly* thinner core. The stock core is about 40mm (1.57" thick), and while I can source a matching metric core, the radiator fabricator I have selected has access to a 1.5" (38.1mm) core that he has had excellent reliability and performance with. There are some other fun features, which I will hold back on until I have the first unit in a week or two (core is a custom order, so will be delayed because of the holiday). This should be good news to Murf car owners, as the radiator will be compatible with the front mount Vortech.

I would normally wait to post pictures till I had something in-hand, but these just came through by email, and thought I would share some pics of one the first physical prototype shrouds. Cant wait to get it all assembled and start some testing.

OMG!. You are using a spec that is less than the typical Porsche over-engineered and over-built product? lets see, your proposed radiator is going to be 1.9mm thinner? Thats the equivalent of a fat 1/16 of an inch (3.2 mm = 1/8 inch) of perceived newer technology in construction and efficiency........and certainly closer tolerances than the body parts of our 928. I think we can live with that. Great effort, as always, Hans.
