I'd love a pink Porsche!

<------

Where can I get some cheap headers for this?

This thread makes a lot more sense now....... my apologies.

Many of us have been running the MSDS units for a long time (my 79 has had them installed for 20 years or so). Just make sure you get a very good ceramic coating - my preference is Swain Technologies out of New York.

This was in a hospital, go left it's the ER, go right it's a walk in clinic.

After many phone calls and "climbing the ladder" I was able to get the bill knocked down considerably.

I service a local 355.
10,000 miles + on this car since it was under my care, I find it very reliable and reasonable to buy parts for.

You have to join FerrariChat to see these photos I posted, my take on the 355 header issue and how I may have solved it without spending $3k:

This Black on Tan 355GTS is for sale.

43 posts before an actual price point for "so expensive" 928 headers was presented.

Why not facts instead of "opinion pieces?"

Headers for un-common applications are expensive if you cannot build them yourself. Buy a Tig-welder and tubing bender, build a jig for L-R sides, it'll make sense then.

I'll put forth a guess that there are as many companies making Chevy speed parts as there are 928 owners who want speed parts. Point being that there is almost no market for 928 speed parts and that developing, testing and making the parts is expensive. Factor in that Porsche found a way to make 6 distinct engines just for the US. It's a small and fragmented market.

I'm in product development and the marketing dopes always hold up the latest commercial gizmo and ask "why is your design so expensive to make when I can get this for cheap." Because you're not going to sell 10,000,000 units and I don't have $100,000,000 to sink into engineering and manufacturing.

Mr. Simard is exactly correct.

You seem like an OK guy so please don't take this as too much of a slam.. but your current stable isn't exactly high end... and I know many wannabe Ferrari owners that are "in the market" for years on end. You do know the 355 is a huge money pit of epic proportions and complaining about 928 parts likening them to Stang parts lessens cred about the 355. The good news is, the 355 is easier to work on than the 928. Even for a practice business manager.. that 355 is going to be spensive'.

Regarding attitude.. I've found (New) Porsche and BMW owners think more highly of themselves than Ferrari owners who I've found tend to be lower key. All the FCar owners I've met have a deep respect for the 928.

Compared to what, a Buick?

See my post above, I've been servicing and caring for a local 355 for about 5 years now. Based on this experience I plan on owning one myself some day.

Yes they cost more to operate than your average car, so do 928's.

My former business partner had a 355 Spider and got to drive it occasionally. Almost bought this color combo a few years back. T

No.. compared to a 360, 430, 328, 308, 599, 928, 911, etc. etc.

Of the two that I am intimately familiar. One, was just in the shop for a major, after being in the shop for a starting issue last year. ($7k major, $3k for the "starting issue") The other $7k major in spring of 2010, Crank position sensor in spring 2011, water pump and steering pump replacement in summer, then a "leaky" headgasket needing engine out spring of this year. (Yes the mythical $10k repair.. just for the headgasket per stealership)

Fun fun cars but when ferrari pushed the limits of the engine for power, the components they selected were not as ideal. Per my mechanic who owned one as well.. " as they get older the true nature of the car reveals itself". Per Fchat though there are some owners have had trouble free cars.

no offense taken. As for my stable, the mustang as it is currently is a lot more valuable than you may think. I just grabbed the s500 recently. It's enjoyable. I bought the 325 ic for my woman.. she decided that she "forgot" how to drive stick. I kept it because it turned out to be a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I'm not even sure where the explorer is, I havent seen it in more than a year. I think my little brother may have it.

There are plenty of people on this forum who have done well for themselves. many of whom probably are worth much more than I am. I pay my lead anethesiologist 360 per year. I make a lot more than she does. If I want to buy a 355, I will go out tomorrow and write a check for one. This is why your reference to my cars doesn't particularly bother me.

Well having a lot of money is distinctly different from being psychologically able to part with that money, let alone enjoying it.

Sorry. Doesn't add up. That much $$ and you've got a fleet that isn't bespoke of it. Best wishes on your search.

To the OP

If i had as much money as you state you have, i would buy your 2 sharks at WHATEVER price you want for them, on the condition that you agree never to buy one again...that would be for everyone's benefit, as well as yours.

I'm tired of these threads.(apologies for the crunchiness)

Cheers,
