Ledee, do yourself a favor. Go to a PROFESSIONAL custom exhaust designer and have a set of headers made for your mustang and then post what the cost was. Nothing from a pattern, no copies of existing china headers, no prepared flanges, a true quality one-off setup. You will find that the cost of 928 headers is actually pretty inexpensive considering the quantity made. It takes time to do it properly and correctly which translates to large quantities of money. I have customers come in weekly asking me to do a custom exhaust for their generic toy and I tell them all the same thing. If there is something already produced in quantity, buy it! Mine will not be cost effective even though they will probably be much better quality and performance. I do my fair share of exhausts for my customers that want the best, not just another box off of the shelf and don't worry about the final cost nunbers as long as they feel it's worth it to them.

Since you are so into the mustang world, compare the prices of an off the shelf set of forged pistons for your 5.0 to a one off custom set of pistons for a specific non-standard bore with a specific pin height and ring package, pin diameter, weight, etc. You are comparing $500 to $3000 for slightly different applications. If you can't comprehend that then this whole post has been a waste of my time.

You have some legit questions but your delivery and response is what causes the problems...rephrase things slightly and you will find a lot of help on this forum. Walk in swinging a large phallus and you will get verbally swatted around...but I think that's why you do it.

P.S. Owner of a 630rwhp 89' auto 928 that would take a bit of the smile off your mustang's face...and drive by any patrol officer without getting unwanted attention.

How can you be libeled when interacting under an internet pseudonym? I’m no lawyer, but please enlighten me.

You're more a lawyer, than he's a doctor.

You know, a clever low cost approach might be 85 collecters terminating into a pair of sidepipes.

1) I am not a physician. I do have several that are on my payroll however. That you can believe or not, I really dont care. If you are that concerned with verifying my statements. Call the clinic and ask for me. 229-259-0891

2) It's called a subpoena. internet pseudonyms are not protected or exonerated from libel laws. Not that I have any intention of pursuing the matter.

3) every day I log on here to see if people continue to perpetuate the stupid threads that I have created weeks ago. People bitch and hem and haw about them, but yet step over each other to post on them. Why is that? When an annoying kid brings up something I dont want to talk about, I ignore the conversation, and it goes away.

how can you compare the price of a one off custom header set up to the cost of a pair of off the shelf 928 headers? you have made my point for me. off the shelf Porsche parts are getting custom part prices.

Additionally, I am willing to bet that my mustang smokes that 630 rwhp 928 in the 1/4. If it doesnt, I will just turn up the juice. My car dynoed 550 with a conservative timing set up, and 110 octane. Since (as you may know) high compression motors turn into hand grenades with bad timing, I prefer to keep it within the safe confines of not turning my motor into a paper weight.

I should add this: I love the 928. I have said it many time. I truly think it is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. My issues are with its overly complex and inflated priced power plant.
