I have a set of plastic ramps and the car is too low with the front spoiler and all to get the car on these ramps. The lift bars work great and are pretty safe.

It's the rear view mirrors...hunt yourself up a set of the aero-profile mirrors-- and you'll note that ^^^ John is one of the references from an earlier post, regarding tuning.

and the abs light came on.
From what I can make out through the forums, it's most likely a sensor or wire leading to sensor.
It came on after we'd driven a few feet.

I don't have the facility to take off the wheels and clean the sensors/check the wires, is there any way of eliminating problems to keep it cheaper at the garage?

Is this dangerous to the car or to us? The Owner's manual says to go straight to your porsche dealership, but also says that the regular brakes will still work fine, so is there any reason for immediate panic?

Thanks

And so it begins!

Seems like starting with fuse and relay would be a good way to go...your hardware is newer than mine though....

You were mentioning all of the rain...make sure there isn't any dampness in the area where the fuse and relay panel is in the passenger footwell. The HVAC fan blower motor seals just above there.

Fuse is fine, and the relay got tapped and is secure- and is bone dry in there.
From what I've read, if it WAS the relay, the warning and light would come up as soon as the car was turned on- it's coming on after driving 20 ft or so.

Rain has been particularly nasty the last 18 hours or so, hoping maybe muddiness has gotten onto one of the sensors.

Relays ON the ABS unit itself maybe?

Can i get to them without garage equipment, and is it possible to jump/bridge them to check?

Do this:

1 Remove the battery + terminal for 15 minutes. Re-attach.
2 Get in the car, do not step on the brake pedal, do not pull the E brake up, turn the key to ON, but do not start it.
**** Note the condition of the ! indicator and the ABS indicator.
3 If the ABS indicator is ON, you have a fault in the ABS system, controller, fuse or relay.
3a If the ABS indicator is OFF, do not touch the brake pedal, turn the key to the start position and start the car, then select D, and roll forward. Note the condition of the ! and the ABS indicator. If the ABS indicator is now on after rolling you have a problems in the sensors, or the wiring from the sensor to the ABS module.
4 You do not have to take your car to the service shop right away, but you will be driving without the benefit of ABS in the rain so do take care.
