I media blasted the pieces as I actually removed the bearings and repressed them with new. So I had hubs, upper arms, cross member, and heat shields all blasted. I then painted them with high temp aluminum looking paint and baked the ones that fit in the oven.

The front was cleaned very thoroughly though I found some cosmoline I must have not noticed and will have to go back in.

I really need to solve the chrome wheel center cap issue. I may swap wheels as chrome is not oem. It's actually the dull goldish anodizing.

I have found a chromer, and now have the wheel centers rechromed and repaired for reassembly to the wheels. I also have the rub strips painted body color to reapplication (car did not come with rub strips, but were installed early, and I am reinstalling).

I have to continue with some small details, and will then get some outside pics up. But for now, its shaping up well.

I had some pics taken by a very very good photographer I know, and he will do the outside as well. It should show well for the purpose of advertising, but also just having some nice pics of a 928.

That's not a bad turnaround for me. Remember I have a 78 I bought in 2002 that I have redone about three times.

Odometer did change. I drove it about 1 mile to do an "installation lap" on the mechanicals.

Next few weeks, I may add up to 10 miles. Maybe less. Need to get the car really up to operating temp. And take pictures by the ocean.

Looking forward to seeing the new pictures.

A ton of hard work and dedication involved here.

Current plan is Russo and Steel in June, but BAT auction before then to see where it goes. A NOT all original E24 just sold there for 60k.

Some last niggling issues are that the anti-lock light in the pod is on. I redid the grounds for those lines. I assume there is some testplan in the manuals.

Great job on the beautiful work done! The sunshine really makes the paint/detailing pop in the pics.
Good luck!

If it lights as soon as you turn the key it is probably the ABS relay. (Basically a large diode inside - best buy new?)

If it lights after moving it's a sensor or wiring.

I have officially applied to see if Russo and Steel want to take a look in June. Separately, I am very interested in seeing if BaT will want to get an auction going.

Passed Smog! Whoo! Not that there could be much wrong with a 31k mile set of cats and a rebuilt MAF, New injectors. New wires, caps, rotors, and new sensors.

Viscous fan may have sat in a certain position too much. Refilling still an option? Or buying something new?

The car looks absolutely fantastic!

Looks like new...and now you can verify that it runs like new.

Brian.
