Flatout engineering builds bolt on corvette suspension kits for many cars. They have a rear suspension package and build custom applications.

Larry,
I am in full support of this effort, also, and did not intend to discredit it in any way. I only brought up the Weissach badge because of an old April Fools joke regarding a 6-speed, and I thought it would be fun to reference it, since the surprise would be that this is the real deal!
I applaud your pioneering effort, and hopes it becomes another great Porsche 928 "game changer"!

I have been waiting for someone to finally put the Corvette tranny on the 928. I personally will never buy a Corvette due to that flimsy fiberglass body but could not ignore its advancement in the drivetrain and performances. A classy and gorgeous 928 body with a modern ZR-1 drivetrain sounds like a fun car.

Can anybody elaborate on how good the Corvette tranny is? Or how good this particular tranny is? The modern Ferrari transmission is a triple cone synchromesh, good for very fast changes as they use the same transmission for the flappy paddle option. I take it it is six speed?

It's good for it's 1500 dollar used price. It's not as smooth as some but light years ahead of ours

Corvettes have had a zf 6-speed since about '89.
The newer T56 and T6060, are extremely reliable and able handle a ton of abuse.
Also used in the GT500, Viper, ect.

^^^Correct. Tremec is mde in Mexico. Tremec was Borg Warner then bought out by Tremec. The ZF stuff was in the C4 corvettes from about '89 to '96.
The Tremec stuff works fine, and will take quite a beating. Lots of people think they tend to be notchy, but my corvette shifted very smoothly. Either way, either Tremec is much more capable than the 928 manual transmissions.
