4-speed Muncie rock crusher would be fun with straight cut differential.

I would be very interested in an auto transmission with a paddle shifter.
One question: Is there electronics with the automatic that need to be tied into the engine.

Wish we had thought about that BEFORE we started building the '91. Be money ahead, way ahead.

Delusions of Granjur are turning into Lust and Desire here.

Must see more pics. I want a 6-speed S4.

Getting the tranny in is actually the easy part. What we do on my race car will be quite a bit different than what most will do, as I plan to use Vette axles into a custom rear upright/suspension setup. Have to get my car done in time to get it on the track mid-May, which will be close. Once I can rely on the suspension and rear brakes, pretty sure it will be getting the EMCO sequential. Already have one C6Z06factory diff, but it will ultimately go into another car and mine will get the same diff, but with a Quaife LSD.

The issue for the production conversion will be getting Porsche CVs to mate up to the Vette diff. Splicing is not an option. While we build my car, we have some people looking into solving that problem. Hopefully, everything will remain stock after it leaves the diff.

We're getting close, but we definitely are not there, yet. More later.

Is the vette differential wider or narrower than teh 928 diff? Or is it more a location issue...like the vette axles are two far forward or rear of the 928 location.....

EMCO sequential is the way to go for a racer.......

That's how far I got and decided to scrub doing it. Sold the tranny and torque tube and went on about it. So I really applaud your efforts because I got to that point and quit.

I have looked at doing the Muncie M22, wouldnt be hard to mate a auto diff housing and diff to it. The input would be easy too.

But I have decided to go a different route, I just need an engineer to help with the tooth profiles.......

If thats only issue then conversion is basically done. Early 928 use separate pieces at outer end inside bearing and four similar joints. By converting to this setup its no big deal to have custom half shafts made which have Porsche dimensions at outer end and Vette dimensions at inner end. Then only fairly easily solvable problem is ABS teeth which do not exist in those early parts.
