Three Wheelin'
After my S4 had a bout with not wanting to run, called Sean. He diagnosed over the phone as possible bad fuel pump relay. Relay was good but two of the connectors on it had corrosion on them. Cleaned them to get it home. Then went and got a very thin metail nail file, same thickness as the connections on the relay. Sprayed with electrical contact cleaning solution a bit and then inserted where the relay inserts its pins. Back and forth a few times and viola! All is good! Pulled the other relays and did the same thing. MUCHO BETTER! Runs smoother and starts quicker to boot!
THANKS SEAN!

Nordschleife Master
Got deep in the center console to find a ground (power) interruption to the HVAC controller (see Tricky AC problem). While entering I found the rubber joiner for the comb flap vacuum line (orange) was violated. Also repaired the sunroof console switch. It needed quite a bit of downward force to operate. Now it's 'the push of a button'.

Drifting
Well I thought I would share some bad news.
I had this drip of coolant under the car so I thought that I better check it out.
Ahh just as I thought it was the drain plug on the passenger side.
(I could tell by the location of the drip on the floor)
Car up on the ramps and tires blocked I slid under with a 13 mil and tightened it about a 1/4 turn, when it got looser and started to leak worse.
I put the pan under and removed the plug to find that all the threads stayed with the plug.
I don't know why I did not notice this when the engine was out. Must be the Deb's fault, she must have interrupted me when I was installing it.
So now I have to tap it out to the next size with the exhaust in the way.
If I could kick my *** there would not be enough time for the major *** kicking that I would do.
Tomorrow I have to get a 1/4 pipe tap, mine has walked off somewhere.
Life goes on

I replaced four plug wire clips on the cam covers. Am I just clumsy or are these things just very brittle from heat? Every time I have to pull plugs I end up snapping a couple of them.

I didn't do a thing, but I did get to watch this master mechanic check the 2/6 bearings, reinstall with new conrod nuts, and install the pan gasket and oil pan.
This was the first time twisting wrenches with my son (this is my youngest age 13), what a kick!
