So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Well, finally the combination of the right parts, the right amount of time, some sunlight, and a lack of wet snow allowed me to finish rebuilding the passenger door.
C
- The window regulator works, and the window goes up and down like a jackrabbit on speed
- The door handle mechanism is replaced. Yes, the old one was broken, yes small tools and wrenches are a godsend, yes it's a pain.
- The power lock works again
- The stupid anti theft thingie is back in place
- The door light works
- The vapor barrier is replaced and back together again
- The broken clips on the door trim have all been replaced with shiny new ones
- The speakers have been reassembled and I got the crossover to fit in the only way it can.
- I'm only missing about a half dozen screws, despite putting everything in bins. :-)

LED headlight upgrade
New hatch gasket
New hatch lock receiver
Replaced some vacuum lines
Removed the blower, cleaned out the leaves, and resealed the airbox
Cleaned the water temp connections (dropped my average guage reading by 1/8)
Started assessing how to do the door sweeps and what I need to do once the door card is off
DA cut with 105 then 205 compound on drivers side. Drastic improvement.

It actually wasn't too bad with the right tools. For me the key is to have really small snap on wrenches (they have a click that is really small to allow them to turn in tight spaces) and long allen wrenches with the hexagon ends. Do the most annoying allen bolt first, don't forget to loosen (BUT NOT REMOVE) the 13mm bolt at the bottom of the anti theft shield and relax while doing it.
Tomorrow is stalled because Fedex changed my shipping date from Saturday to "Who knows". They are the most useless shipper ever, I wish people would stop using them. No upper rubber intake refresh, no front grill replacement, and no nice little spoiler instead of two chunks on the sides.
Instead I'll go over to Dad's house and help him replace the diodes on his 1968 911L's alternator because he put the battery in backwards (oops).

Burning Brakes
Faffed around trying to match plated fixings to mount points in the engine bay. Quite therapeutic really as it was perishing cold outside and chucking it down. Went home and ordered a whole load of generic bolts, washers, lock washers self tapers etc plus a few peculiar to Porsche items (10x price...)

Flushed my cooling system the improper way
... then got to refill it in the Walmart parking lot. After repositioning a clamp to the good side of the burst in the hose, and adding 3.5 gallons of a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water, I completed the drive home without further issue.

What happened to your custom cold air intake?
Good luck,
Dave

Installing the new steering wheel with extended hub. Unbelieveble how much more comfy the position in the car for tall ppl is.
790 € new on german eBay.

It looks like the extendend hub is an add-on to the normal wheel. I wonder, if true, if it is available separately. My steering wheel is brown, so I doubt I will find an extended hub wheel complete in that color.
Thanks,
Dave

You'll notice in those pics, the supercharger is actually not installed either. I had sent that off to Carl for a performance upgrade - his lighter, more aggressive billet impeller, upgraded bearings, upgraded internal belt, venting of the case, etc so while the supercharger was gone for a couple weeks, I threw the original intake filter back on so I could drive it around.
While the supercharger upgrades were being done, I had some of the other hardware powdercoated to go with the red theme, renewed and upgraded the large coolant hoses to silicone, and also replaced all the hose clamps with stainless band clamps on both the cooling hoses and the intake hoses.
Reiinstalled with the CF fender intake version, it looks like this, and I'm now getting 4-5 lbs of boost.
For anyone with an OB that has the Powerdyne setup and wants to upgrade their intake, I have this v1 Version available for sale. Comes with the custom fabricated block off plate with sealed CF duct, the inline Spectre filter canister with enclosed oiled filter, and the CF duct to filter elbow - does not include the next elbow from the filter to the supercharger intake.

As I was washing the other car, I looked at the 928 and thought how beautiful it is, how it was my childhood dream, and how it is now losing out to my adult dream most of the time.
I don't think I drove more than a few hundred miles last year, and feel a bit guilty for neglecting it.
I'm comparison to the modern cars I get to drive these days, I particularly find the steering to be outdated. I wish someone would make an upgraded electric steering rack that is as precise as in other modern cars - without breaking the bank. I know, I know... sounds easier than it is.
