So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Attempted removal of purple, and slightly bubbled rear hatch window tint. I don't know why what was done, was done. As I began to steam it off it appears that the CLEAR LINER came off easily, but the colored film is still tightly adhesed to the glass. Never saw anything like this. Steam will not even loosen the dyed layer. Only razor lift with steam works. Will do some more slow clearing until I approach the seam at the defroster elements. Will take to a good shop and proceed carefully. All I want is all the rear glass blacked.

...The gentleman said this was a 928 roof rack but I don't see anything like this while searching. It is tubular aluminium construction, very light weight. Any ideas?

Quick survey and made a new friend
Purchased my car yesterday. A local guy responded to my question about a Florida caravan to SITM. Turns out he recently bought almost the same car Black 90 GT and lives around the corner from. A wonderful coincidence! Just another reason to the love the shark.
Then I got the wheels balanced to get rid the horrible vibration I had to endure for 2.5 hrs as I drove the car home from PO. Seemed to help a lot but the tires are 5 yrs old and somewhat flat spotted so new Bridgestone S-04 PP go on tomorrow.
Put the car on a lift and found no belly pans, and lots of oily leaks front and back. Will degrease and chase ASAP.
Replaced the shredded alternator belt belt and found the alternator seems twisted in relation to other pulleys. Not sure how that could happen as it seems to be mounted in a very robust fashion right to front of the engine. Not sure how to fix it either.
Dropped the car down and drove to an Exotic car show for a few hours. Back to the real world tomorrow.

Removed the exhaust and heat shields on the 89 to fix AT line leaks. Had new hoses fitted to the existing metal fittings and reinstalled. Also replaced the B2 valve and refilled with new AT fluid. While I was at I drained and refilled the diff with Mobil1 75-90 LS gear oil. (Damn, I wish I had done this on the GTS a couple of weeks ago)
Finished up by refitting the exhaust and correcting some leakiness there. Looks like the front main seal may be leaking. I'll probably do that in a couple of weeks since the weekend is mostly gone.
I also fitted a different CPS to the Stepson while trying to cure a hot start issue. That didn't work so I changed out the MAF. That didn't work either. I guess I'll try a relay swap tomorrow evening.

Made right my rear windows today. The Tint Squad of Syracuse did a knock up job of cleaning up a mess and then outfitting the windows. Mike is the go to guy. All they do is tinting - auto, marine, and residential. If in central or northern NYS he is worth the drive.

Rear lid tint replacement
Tint replacement for the back lid might be good service type for the Sharkfest in Anaheim. This must be a common issue. Mine have had a couple flaws for awhile but concern about the defroster has held me back. Good to hear yours was successful.

Changed the tie rods (full assembly) yesterday. Thanks Roger!
Everything went smoothly. Quite tight but removable by hand with 22mm and 32mm key wrenches.
Car pull a bit to the right. Alignment scheduled next week.
Can't wait to drive it for a long trip...

Cleaned out the valve body over the weekend. Took the entire day, what an intense job. Then paranoia kicks in. Did I put everything in the right place? Checked the manual, damn I don't think so. But then, you check your pictures and you feel better. The manual is misleading sometimes because depending on the valve body version, not everything is in the same order.
