Congratulation for this amazing piece of art!

Greg, one question. What do you think about an engine with your modifications but stock 5 l displacement.
Is such an engine also capable to make ~ 100 hp /l displacement crank hp or do you need more stroke for maximum efficency ?

Awesome figures.

Stupid power? Not at all.

What was the final displacement? 6.4l?

Can you elaborate as to the areas you needed to modify/change to fix the oiling issues? I understand if you;re not wanting to tell specifics, but maybe generalities? Like, modifications to the oil filler area, cam breathers, additional head work, etc?

I'm happy for both you and Andy. Great job!

Never said they were the be-all, end-all best header option (although they are one of the better options). I'd love to have Greg's headers, but I think I got a much better value at $450 vs. $1,000+. So no, I did not get pwned.

A long time ago there were two very similar 928's on the same dyno both doing some tuning with similar (pre-shark tuner) software.

The car with the DEVEK Level 2 headers made more overall and peak power than the car with the "snake" headers.

I would stick with Greg's if I were you.
Interesting - john gill had some snake ones made for his modified GT.

Sound available on his build page here--> http://www.emtec.net.au/928GT_engine.html

Greg sent me faxes of data, as his scanner is misbevhaing. I pulled the #'s and did a quick makeshift dyno curve just to have a pciture to look at:

Raw data for Devek L2 headers:

Raw data for Greg's exhaust:

Congratulation Greg, good power figures and for solving the oil problems.

If the A/F-l column is Air Fuel Ratio, then I think there's lot's more horsepower left
on the table with Gregg's headers by getting that ratio up to the same/similar levels
as with the Devek headers. But then that would require more tuning that would
probably not used on Andy's car.

My guess is that the WBO2 was lying on the ground after Greg installed his headers, since there's no bung in the collectors.

I'll start saving money for the oil fix.

OK, that would explain some of it. But the WBO2 sensor would have to be laying
next to a puddle of gas or something to get those numbers. But that's beside the
point, this session still shows great numbers and that Greg's headers had higher
power with the same engine and tune.

great power with a conservative tune.......plenty rich for safety....especially down low....which is opposite of that the stock LH system does.....normal towards lean in the middle then crazy rich up top....

I've found that you have to be very careful with dyno fuel mixtures readings. The engine passes so quickly through those numbers that the readings are not necessarily accurate. Those A/F numbers that are in the 10's and 11's are actually about 12.5-13.0, if you go to those individual cells and hold the power steady.

Same thing happens when I tune on my Mustang Chassis Dyno. I'm able to hold things longer and more accurately tune an "individual point". If we go from the Mustang over to a DynoJet, the dynojet guy will always "freak" out at how far off the mixtures are.

I've found a Dynojet just a bit better than nothing, when it comes to tuning A/F mixtures...nothing has enough time to stabilize, when the engine sweeps so quickly through an RPM range.
