early dyno results
Just got back from Precision mortorwerks,(greg brown ) and saw the engine he developed and was in the process of breaking in and tuning.....all I can say is WOW!!!!!!
He has been massaging this creation for a while with the itb , cams and 6.5 liters
and I had no Idea how much custom machine work went into one of these engines. Suffice it to say that I was awe struck and Greg wondered why I had such a dumb grin on my face!!
nitty gritty:
dyno is a dts unit used by Heads UP performance By Roger Crawford just a block or two from Greg's shop.
this dyno run was with conservative fuel and ignition maps and the engine test was run up to 5500 rpm as we ran out of time gnerating new maps for this engine as it is using a different management system.(map not maf)
uncorrected at 5500 rpm torque was about 470 and hp was 530.....and redline for this engine is 7200.....
so lots of hope for this engine and I could tell by Gregs smile there will be alot more to come.
Just wanted to give a taste of future developements
andy
No dyno sheets but I have a 2 hr dvd of the entire process I will try and post snippets later....

Wow - sounds awesome, cannot wait to see the details!! Care to share the specs on the ITB setup?
Time for Heartland Park to show some of the domestic boys what a 928 can do.
Too bad the old "Dragstrip Road" is long gone off Clinton.

Pretty sure the footprint of the ITB's only fit on the S4+ heads. I have had the pleasure of seeing this beast- not sure what 'Stage' it is, but I'd guess at least 7 or 8.

Prices? I don't know any stinkin prices.....Hahahahahahaha!!! just kidding .
I really don't know yet as the transmission (auto) and torque tube rebuild are in there also.
and sometimes I think I asked for way more than I needed in this build. His shop is precisionmtrwerks.com
and I am sure you can talk pricing for basic all the way up to wild....
I will be talking to greg later and ask some more specifics as to the engine management system.
thanks
andy

Sounds incredibly cool, Andy.
I'm looking forward to seeing the beast.
Which will be about when, approximately?
BTW, I've still got your MAF; need to get it back to you sometime.

I played a little bit of hooky Thursday afternoon as Greg's shop was putting the final touches on the linkages. For a whole bunch of reasons it was decided to tune on the local engine dyno and not in the car, so the engine is mounted on a big rolling cart that adapts to the engine dyno.
Every piece of my stroker got kissed here and there, I think it's kind of trick. The level of work on Andy's motor is in another zip code, it's just mind bending. Every guy that walked through the dyno shop A) said, 'wait, Porsche made a V8?", and B) Whoa, who made those throttle bodies and velocity stacks?
Some details:
Check the ITB-to-water crossover clearances:
Couple of other changes to the crossover....
The exhaust standoffs are to clear the dyno cart.
Greg's portable ignition module/coil bracket:
Other detail shots:
Check out the little machined standoff for the FPR:
Just a couple of Greg's hoses on this motor:
Oil filler neck, with some crazy clamp whose name I forget. Greg has of course machined a funnel that fits into the filler....
On the way to the dyno:
Setup on the dyno:

It is probably a bit rude to ask how much someone spends on their car or how much they make a year or what their net worth happens to be...... All I know for sure is the engine cart alone costs way more than my car is worth If you are interested in a Greg Brown engine there are so many options available that there is no set price, each is custom built to order.

My comment wasnt rude in any way,I did not ask how much his annualy family income or for his SS number, just thought it would be nice to no a ballpark figure so that me and other 928 owners who are seriously interested could have an idea what to start saving for.Hope I didnt offend anyone thats wasnt my intention, whoever deleted my post could of at least pm'ed me and explained what I did wrong, this way I can learn and move on,now that seems a little rude to me.
