Jim-

The 'rear tires ok' part is a joke, I photoshopped that on there for Greg- he's going to have them made up for his stroker customers.

Both my '90 and '93 have the 'oil ok' bit on the flap.

dyno done today with no oil issues at sustained high rpm and tuning tomorrow...oil problems see to be resolved ......greg will post soon for end results ....He said he would have to tune it for the automatic tranny and will still be streetable...

I wonder what hp and torque he could get out of it if this was a 5 speed with more aggressive cams????

You know you can change a auto to a 5 speed.

Yeah but I am in the dog house for how much has been spent on this ol porsche . a 5 speed conversion is way beyond any rudimentary skills I possess.

I can't wait to get it home and will change my signature when I actually get the car back!!!!!

I am stock piling some iodine for my trip to california to pick it up.

thanks
andy

That's great news. And a lot of people will be looking forward to hearing more about the solution. Great work!

Hmmm, der Google says it's 217 miles from Tulsa to Lawrence. I'd love to see that engine when you get it back, just awesome! I'm sure the boys in Dallas would love to see it too, if you'd ever entertain a trip down south.

I had a brief look at the engine while it was on the dyno cart in Greg's shop. To suggest that it's a work of art is a gross understatement. First of all, there's nothing ever hacked or less than perfect execution in Greg's projects. So any questions about quality of workmanship and execution are moot. The Simard ITB intake setup is nice enough to get extra blood flowing. The extra plumbing for the oil management system is all done with 'the good stuff' as far as hoses and fittings, and everything has a purpose. There's lots that isn't visible to the naked eye too. It's all eye candy for car guys, that's for sure.

Andy, you'll be very proud to open the hood with that engine sitting in there. Trust me! Also trust me that the auto box will be much more forgiving than a stick. The stick drivers can't do full-throttle 1-2 shifts without feeling the rev limiter, and 2-3 shifts are only marginally better. That's based on riding in Rob's GTS during some street-tuning runs for Sharktuning. If it were mine, I'd be looking for a good 2.20 S4 autobox with stiffened LSD so the extra torque could actually do some work going down the road. The quicker GTS ratios will have you out of tach before top speed, and keep the engine busy at freeway hyper-cruise speeds.

I played hooky for a few hours between appointments this morning and stopped by to watch - didn't get to see the high-rpm stuff or the full-load dyno pulls this afternoon. Greg was leaving the shop at 9PM tonight after 13 hours so I presume he'll file an update after he recovers from the day. Gotta let him tell the story, it's his to tell....

I did manage to record some good aural sex. I think this was 5500 rpm or so. Listen with good quality headphones! The hissing is the load being added to the dyno, you can hear the timbre of the motor change with load.
