I guess I have been playing by the rules pretty well then. I've been a "user" for a long time and rarely post. I come here to read, not interact. Becoming a "user" allowed me to view attachments, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bothered with that. I don't hold a Rennlist "member" in any higher regard as a 928 owner just because they are a "member" and like to talk a lot. I own 3 of these vehicles and have had one since '92. I think I know the 928 pretty well. I come here to read what posters like GB and Stan (MrMerlin) have to contribute. You never know what you might learn. As an example, there's no telling how much time Bill Ball saved me the first time I did the rear main seal. Had I not followed his write-up step-by-step, it easily would've taken me twice as long to do. Also, I will be doing head gaskets on an '84 soon. GB's recent contributions about doing head gaskets on cars that use studs as factory hardware will be invaluable to me when I do the same job soon.
There's a lot of BS to comb through. Every now and then, there is actually something here worth reading.

Well, I guess "user" , as verb perfectly defines your actions (or lack thereof) within a community of people who actually contribute.

A touch of perspective. An exceptional car, interior by Paul, paint by Kevin, and sold on a no reserve ebay auction which makes the price at worst market price, but much more likely a discounted price due to need for a quick sale.
If the water is too hot at home, sell it, but don't try and convince us its some kind of bad deal, it simply is not.

When a car such as this was described as "issue free", "everything works PROPERLY ", and a few great attributing qualities, I too would expect an "issue free" car. As far as the broken odometer, I don't think too many people would even notice when they are inspecting the car.
In summary, there are 2 poles here.
One group thinks the buyer should have been less trusting and be more careful inspecting and scrutinizing the car before handing over the cash.
One group thinks the seller should have been more honest in disclosing these hidden issues instead of misrepresenting them as "everything works" and "issue free."

Things break on cars when they sit, I have seen it time and time again.
I honestly do not understand all of the drama here, just fix the few issues and be done with it, the car is a one of a kind 928 that the owner seems to love, it is a stunning car, bought at a very good price.
The odometer broke in mine between the time the PO parked it and I bought it, he had just had the emissions test done, so the mileage was a couple of thousand more than what the emissions test said, sure nuff did not work when I bought it.
The PO also said everything else worked, and I think it did when he was driving the car, but not when I got it going after it had not been driven.
mine sat a lot longer, but the same things happened.
Kevins rep is far to important to him to try to pull some thing over on a 928 owner, that much I do know.

What a waste of my life reading this thread....... last I checked their are only a handfull of people who have been banned from being "members" therefore it is not a very selective or exclusive "club" .......anytime you buy anything look at it and make your own judgements. Then simply man up and live with the results .
