I think most of the people who read the thread are missing the point. I am not unhappy because the PO misrepresented his car although he clearly did. I love the car and wouldn't let him have it back if he wanted it. I AM UNHAPPY BECAUSE HE REFUSES TO RETURN MY MANY PHONE CALLS (THAT I KNOW HE HAS RECEIVED) EVEN THOUGH IT IS CLEAR THAT I JUST WANT TO ASK A FEW QUESTIONS THAT ONLY HE CAN ANSWER . ANYONE WHO DEFENDS HIS NOT RETURNING MY CALLS GREW UP IN A DIFFERENT WORLD THAN MINE.

Well, I guess "user" , as verb perfectly defines your actions (or lack thereof) within a community of people who actually contribute.
Maybe the reason folks become members is to give back in a way they can, and some folks including users contribue technical insight, etc.
So what do you do?

My dear sir, you sound like a condescending a-hole, so why not stick with your owner's club forum rather than judging the quality of the posts here, especially since you already know about all there is to know about 928s? I think that the 928 OC is great, but it doesn't have anything close to the content that Rennlist does. The +1 posts allow someone to offer their support without replicating the sentiment of the original post. I'm sure I'll see a reply about how experienced a 928 owner you are, but it won't matter a bit to me, as you've already told me all i need to know about you.
I'm a proud member of the 928 Owners Club and participate as a moderator on its web forums. When I have something to contribute, I share. To me, agreeing and disagreeing with prior posts is silly. The "+1" that is overly used here is the most pointless post I have ever read. I'm not concerned about tallying up my post count. The best posts to read are the ones that present some element of originality. I come here in hope of learning something new about 928s. Occasionally, I get that satisfaction.

O/K Esprit. i need to know the mileage and /or date the timing belt and water pump were changed. The receipts say 2002 but PO implied new. Should I change the belt and pump because PO won't answer my calls or send me a private message. I can fix the other problems without his help but I can't do the belt/pump myself. I know he has no legal obligation but we are both good guys so I am mystified to understand and I know what his personal issues are because I survived the same issues myself.

You paid $19,000 for the vehicle.
That is a lot of money!!!
Considering it most likely cost you in man 'wage hours' $27,000 to make.- damn taxes.
Anyway- I'd be furious. You paid PREMIUM price for the car that you were told-in writing - was essentially premium as well!
and like EVERYONE ELSE , who even orders pizza ;expects value for money .
If they don't get it , they bitch about it!
b.s excuses.-on this forum- almost like the car has feelings-wierd!
I'd be livid and crestfallen if it happened to me!! So would ALL of these people on this forum.
So sorry for your expired faith in some.
Mike.
- I hear you.-sorry, but as you know the 928 CAN be an awesome vehicle-DEPENDENT- upon the previous owner!
Go get the mother!

Wow, this just got a lot worse. The seller said it is all up and ready. Now we find out that by the receipts it needs a minimum of $2000 of TB/WP labor and materials. Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark.
