Very nice! It looks like I just need to trim the blue tape back a little, or, Paul, did you intend that to be removed?

Hey Bill,

didn't even need my instructions hey?

The blue tape should remain there. Those fiber optic tails can be hard to control without it. But I might have gone over the line a bit, so you could trim it back.

The whole panel could probably scoot to the right a tiny bit. There is a bit of play around that plastic pin.

Did you trim the plastic channel, or did you force the tails to contour it?

In any event, well done my friend.

Paul

If I slide the panel over to the right, tape will show on the left, so I'll trim it carefully. The tape is only a 1/10th" over the panel, but you've cut the panel very close to the window size, so peeling that tape back to the edge will fix this.

I really didn't have any trouble tucking the tails under the sill cover channel hump.

Since I already had an EL panel wired, it was a no brainer. I'll be curious as to how you recommend wiring it. I tapped into the harness going to the door light ground, since that is door pin-controlled, and grabbed 12V from the audio amp wiring. On the driver side (not done yet), I may have to use 12V from the hatch pull. GTS owners will have to use some other source.

Looking good Bill. BTW, there's a guy selling lighting gels on ebay for a couple bucks. I intend to put the light gel over the strip before I mount it.

Looking forward to mine, Paul!

Regarding the Lighting Gels, cool idea to look into, but that particular seller has more negative feedback than I prefer, especially regarding lighting gels.

Thanks Paul for getting mine to me so fast! I have not looked at it closely. Will it be obvious which LED's are the red ones? They might even already be installed... Like I said, I have not even taken the stuff out of the bag yet.

Looking forward to getting these (or at least the drivers side) installed this weekend! I can't wait!!!! EURO85 is looking SO GOOD!!! What a car!

Hey James,

I have installed the LEDs in their holders for most of the kits, including yours. They are pictured separately in the photo above to show everyone what they were getting.

It's hard to tell LEDs apart without lighting them. They all appear clear.

I would urge anyone who want to test their LEDs, to use one of the harnesses supplied in the kit, along with a 9V battery. But do use the harness, as they have a current limiter that will protect the LEDs.

Oh, I fitted the panel to the sill rather than the cover, matching the pin holes up. Works OK that way, but I gather that is upside down! So, I guess it will be brighter if I flip it over.
