Thanks Paul
Or you could put a very small push button switch inline and mount it next to the hatch release (if you used that power source).

I actually removed the hatch switches (no longer needed) with the hatch release switch now relocated with the illuminated soft touch window switches as well as on my remote. I have removed the box-like cover and I am having a tailor stitch a leather boot to cover the handbrake like this

and re-carpet the area along the driver's side. Cleaned up the area by the handbrake tremendously.

Interesting - I agree the drivers side 'box-like cover' is really unnecessary (and a big space waster) if only the hatch switch is mounted there. Likewise the passenger side one is not necessary of you don't have the extra amp - I assume you removed that too?

yep, that will be gone soon too. I am cleaning up the driver's side first and then making my way over there.

So after I installed the sill kit I came to the same conclusion that AO had come to and the white behind the numbers REALLY shows as white in the sunlight. It was a bit distracting (though I was getting used to it). AO, found some transparent stuff on ebay and cut it to fit and while it just makes the red a bit darker when it is dark out it makes a big difference in the sunlight... So, I started looking around. Just casually keeping my eyes open.

Today I was at Office Max and I found the answer! It cost $.79 and is enough material to screw this up a half dozen times before I need to buy again!

I didn't see what I was looking for so I asked one of the employees. I pointed to one of the red stick tabs that you can use to mark books and stuff and then put a little piece of paper with a note telling you what that tab is for and told him in need something in that red and transparent. We looked around a little and he said, "hang on...I think I have something that will work." He came back with the folder pictured below. I said, "PERFECT. How much?" "79 cents!"

So, I have not taken outside pics of it installed on the drivers side, but I will next time the car is out but here it is before cutting. I have not installed the passenger side yet because I was waiting for this! Now I am good to go!!! It will be my weekend project! YEA!

James,

Nice find! To be safe though, I would let a piece or two sit out in the sun for a while (or, at least, in the heat), and see how it fares.

I have the sill kit I ordered (blue), but still have not had a chance to install it. I would want mine to show some silver, and so I may look into some testors paint - don't know yet. I have a few extra sills to play with beforehand, to see what works best. I will post results when I get to try it out.

Looking forward to what you come up with!

Jeff, thank you very much. That looks great. While you're granting wishes, any shots of the sill with the light not illuminated?

Jeff, that looks GREAT! Was thinking about that for my S4 and then plain white for my '94...all in good time!

Alan,

Did you import your GTS or did someone else do it? OR is it just a different cover for the parking brake there. You have the EURO headlight adjusters on it? Curious what the strange speaker **** does as well as the one that looks kind of like the temp **** icon...

James - my car is a rather unique... It has retrofiited ROW electric headlight adjusters (perfect with H4's), the dual **** at the front is my 'remote mounted ****' for the Valentine 1 remote audio adapter (a great location for this). The rear one is a bass level control for my audio system.

Thank God those buttons were add-ons. After I saw that picture my shark's manhood was in question as if it was less endowed.

I used orange monokote from a hobby shop. Works rather well almost exactly the same color as the digital dash.
