My '78 US ,#342 has rear consul sans ashtray & lighter and does not have a passenger door mirror. Correction-I have rear consul with ashtray and lighter.

Default Quick update...

Well, I went back to Michigan hoping to have some time to get #6 running, but family prevailed.
Spent a few days enjoying being around my family and the Doerr Harvest Party was a success.

Got to drive my first Johnny Popper (JD 720), and Nick's (#6 Assistant) highly modified Raptor 750. Pops wouldn't let me drive the Case 400. wah wah.

As #6 will sit until the spring.....

On my daily surf through the UK, US, and DE Ebay sites I came across this:
A 928 with an alleged first registration date (Erstzulassung) from October 1977 being broken up for parts in Germany. http://stores.ebay.de/van-delle59/Po...=p4634.c0.m322
It's red with black interior with pinstripe fabric. Maybe a few bits of interest for you in there.

1189 Euro for a worn out interior. He will be a time - that is unless parts in Germany sell for a lot more than here. It can be brought in to the US without an EPA. Maybe someone can talk the guy into a package deal.

Prices on this stuff seem incredibly high.

My apologies for the missing image and PDF content.

Had to set up a new host (thanks Rennlist!), and edit all the links. So it should be back to normal. If you find a dead link, please let me know so i can fix it.

Thanks!

Thanks for asking. My trip to Michigan this spring took on another meaning, with the loss of a dear friend.
With my time being limited, I had to forego the "down on the farm party" but hope to reinstate it next spring.
Will be back in the Fall and will carve out time to wrap up the CIS project, then onto electrics.
Longer term will be a transfer from Michigan to Virginia after the new garage is built. Then the fun begins...

Default Update: running again

Spent a couple of relaxing days working on #6 at the Farm, last week.

Finished installing the fuel delivery components, and removed all smog additions from 1992 (frequency valve, O2 sensor, lambda control).

Re-tuned the car from scratch and was able to achieve 75psi system, 30psi cold control, and 41psi warm control. Very happy.

Car ran rough, then found a couple of cylinders not firing due to bad spark plug wires. Replaced wires and car is running good.

Didn't take it down the road as I was short on time, and need to work out a couple other things first. Next on the list is a fuel tune-up to include new green wire. Then onto a full electrics R&R, CE panel, grounds, 14 pin, etc.

Planning to do this next stage of work in March. Thanks for following along!

Found a hard-to-fine fuel pump bypass tube, so everything is original spec.

Drove the #579 car to the Farm, so now #6 has a stable-mate.

Cool.

Why does the red one look bigger than the other one in that picture?

I found this really cool photo of #6. It's the only shot I have of the car in motion. Just wanted to share. Thanks!
