Haha! The article is huge... probably a half-day of translating. I may be that sick....

Re GB... small world, huh.

That shot is awesome. Makes you wonder if anyone knows where the other cars in the picture are.

What really has me scratching my head is... where is the rear wiper?
wiper delete and a painted bead between bumper cover and rear of car. That second item is a little detail you'll want to remember I suppose, even though we cringe at it on cheap resprays. In this case, it's correct.

It's weird though, Ed...

Earliest pics I have show it with wiper, then later pic without. And now it has a rear wiper (which looks to have been there from the beginning).

I guess that's the interesting aspect of the car having been a Weissach test vehicle. It's clear to me #6 went thru a fair amount of running changes.

There is no bumper beading, rear or front. Don't believe it ever had 'em.

Have you had the bumper covers off?

Wonder if the piping channel is present on the bumper cover edges or not.

That would be interesting to know, tells of the manufacturing development
side of the 928 and gives your #1 &#6 examples that 'concept car' detail.

The groove (channel) is there, just wasn't utilized yet.

#6 in particular shows a lot of development history.

this is fascinating stuff. I can't think of a better more dedicated keeper of the flame either, than you Jim - we all lucked out that those two cars found their way to you!

Had a great day working on #6 at the farm in Michigan. Can't believe it's been a whole year since the last time!

Continuing work on CIS fuel tuning. Have good system and contol pressures, just struggling with pressure leak-down.
Installed a new fuel accumulator and it's had a new fuel pump (with check valve).
Any ideas where to look for other sources of fuel pressure leak-down?
Any leads would be most appreciated, thanks!

Stay tuned for more restoration updates this week.

I look way too serious in that pic, Nick. Thanks for posting, and for your awesome detailing help last night.

We carefully washed and clayed #6, and she's now smooth as a baby's bottom.

After getting the fuel system sorted, finally... #6 runs well again! Final tuning is today, and we should have her purring like a kitten before long.

Also, will be installing the correct pre-muffler and removing the non-stock cat converter. Will also reseal and clean the exhaust system.

And when parts from 928 Intl arrive (hopefully today), will refresh the intake and injector seals.

We're having fun now!
