Guy's owned it for a while-had it for sale a few months back. Wasn't pushing hard to sell it. Very nice guy.

Works at an Acura or Honda Dealer (I think service writer) and has had a mechanic on staff service it during off time. Actually sounds very, very well kept but I did not see it in person.

If someone needs a looksee, please let me know sooner than later-I'll be out of town from 21st-29th.

I have one for sale for a friend of mine. A 1980 5-Speed in Silver with dark blue leather interior. (The owner is a multi-millionaire--with everything done to it when it needed to be done--never cut corners.) 45,505 miles until the odometer broke about two years ago as best as I can tell--and rarely driven those last two years--less than 200 miles.

Receipts for everything. Very **** excessive owner with every receipt for maintenance, etc. Logbook even tells you what the per mile costs amounted to each year.

You'll never find one this clean and as well maintained--$8700. (A steal for that--it's a fast, well sorted out car.)

Those are interesting speaker mounts on the doors.

But, never had the Odometer fixed?

I'm confused on this body for an 80. Can someone explain the S4 (looks to me) nose and rear with the large rear spoiler and side ground effects, that has the 16V engine?

This is a custom car with S4 nose and tail... the rest is aftermarket stuff. Looks like a fairly decent custom job at that, but I doubt this one will be moving quickly at that price…. Customs can he hard to judge and sale.

Kurt,

Not really...that is a COMPETE AIR kit for the 928... My race car has that nose and tail or one very much like it and you can see AIR stamped on the edges when you open the hood and stuff...

Thanks guys.

I'm not a fan of customizing or aftermarket kits. I guess I'm a purist. Car does look good though.

One of the local PacNW 928ers (Stefan (Stromius)) had a look at the 87 5sp... and his report was favorable. Not perfect, but definitely a good starting point...

That looks like Ed's car. I knew the previous owner well.

My son took apart the engine from his "new" '83 today.

As I suspected, the block has been eaten up from not having the coolant changed every two years. Time to find another 4.7 donor short block.

Low mileage cars can be a real curse, too.

But, But they are just like new right?

Paul told me a story about a T34 that went down in salt water and they left the master (electrical) switch on, got the airplane out the next day and he said the magnesuim panels on the airplane were just gone, the paint was still there, like a sheet hanging from a line with nothing under neath it.

I've seen late model GTS's with really low mileage that have the head gaskets seeping to the outside....which they never do, if the coolant is changed. Imagine what they are going to look like, when they come apart. And the people that are paying huge dollars for them are clueless.

I suspected that this might be the case, with this engine. Hard to imagine coolant getting into a cylinder without there being aluminum missing from somewhere. The head gaskets were in terrible shape..the paper had pieces missing everywhere. Heads actually don't look too bad.

Cylinder #2 had severe gouging on the rear wall. (It was not a cylinder that had water in it.) The connecting rod is very bent, twisting the piston in the bore.

If cars could talk....
