Dan,
you need a base welded to something like this its not 1000 but claims are 900cfm
Maybe a base and a smiliar build with 5inch outlet would do it still have to find a good filter.
Whats under the hood look like on your car with the SC?

All the filters are in this area dont see any specs but you cold call them to find out if you see something that looks like it might work. They have 6" opening.Running a 5" from the MAF might be able to tie into something like the 6" or 5"inch oepning would look in the filter area.

Default Dyno Runs

Great Looking Intakes Roger.

The data posted on 928 Specialist's site is from my previous car. I did the runs at Dynolab. The only mods done were on the car with and without Blackbird. It was never Shark Tuned. Since there was some comments about the veracity of the comparisons, I repeated the dyno runs both on the same day without significant variation to the data that was first presented.

As an aside, Thank you Roger again for your support Saturday at the "Mile", and the bushings work great!

Best of luck with the intakes,
Ed M

No, my setup is different. The S/C sits on top of the engine instead of the intake manifold. The connection to the back of the S/C is already made and the throttle body/MAF/ISV go down the passenger side where the air tube would go. There is nothing on the driver's side. I think my only option is snout filters after the radiator and joined back after the radiator and connecting to the MAF on the passenger side. If I could lose the MAF I could use dual throttles, but that is getting too complicated for my tastes.

Anything like Carls filter setup work as in his front filter at the front of the radiator?
If you could mount the filter system like that or opposite outlet made to use the filter system work?

A fellow lister manufactured and sold those a few years ago (his name escapes me at the moment, hopefully he will chime in, might be 'Nicholbry'). Jim added the Porsche crest to his, it does not come with the cap. I painted mine to match my engine.

As far as the CA smog inspections go, the 928 does not have a "thermostatic" air cleaner, so there really should be no problem. You might encounter the odd tech looking for a B.A.R. label for it & if so, I'd go elsewhere.

Yes, a flipped version of that would work fine. However, I have my doubts as to how well that filter setup works.

Dan,
That stag 3 Carl is working on I think I seen it as a 1300+cfm supercharger
on his site.Maybe he knows how much and will answer on the flow.
These are short ones I found that maybe if you mocked up the front with cardboard and have someone make it up with aluminum the older Z's look like they used fillter under 2inches tall those cut and stretched out may work here is what they look like.

Looks super nice.

I agree with Sterling that with black rubber and little bit of powder coating this would "pass" as stock in most places.

Part labels on the intake tubes can work great on fooling the smog guys into thinking you have a stock intake system. This is assuming, of course, that your intake tubing is painted black.

"It looks awfully similar to 928 specialists "Blackbird" to me"

Good question and I am happy to provide an answer.

Yes it does have some similar traits to the Blackbird. Unfortunately the Blackbird is not available and has not been available for nearly two years. I had 6 on order - one for myself and the rest for local 928 owners here in DFW. DR told Jim M and me that we would have ours in July 09 at the OCIC - for some reason that did not happen. Not my business to know why they are not available - they just are not. I have stated publically that I wanted a Blackbird on my GTS. Everything was done on my car apart from the intake kit soooo after some others put together their own kits and the numerous emails asking me to put together a kit - we did.
Already sold 8 kits plus the 3 we have on test at the moment.
Dyno runs next week to see if any gains can be made power wise.

Would have loved to have a "Blackbird" but !!!!

Ever thought about switching to Megasquirt? With that you could run MAP, replace LH and EZK at once, and set up whatever fuel and ignition maps you want. The one trick would be the resonance flap. You'd either need to run MS2-Extra, so you could add your own code to switch the flap, or maybe use a Raptor RPM switch.
