For me this was the best year! I loved the venue and the whole program felt more fluid than in previous years. It was nice that everyone got to stick together more and plenty of space for dinner!!

Great job Dave and Jeannie!

First let me say, what an event! This is the place to go for all things 928 and some of the best comraderie I'd ever experienced. Great people all of you!

Dave and Jeannie, what can I say? You'd really topped yourself on this one.
Thank you so much... you throw one helluva party!

Where to start...
Robot man, thanks for listening to my crazy stories til 4am. (Tell Bill, hey man... thanks.)
Rhudy, you're a Rock Star! Nuff said.
Glenn, best wingman on the road! And thanks for letting me drive the Vader Rover for a couple hundred.
Carl and Rick... you guys are awesome! Boston 2011. (and Carl, thanks for runnin' rabbit for 280 miles on the BRP... this guy is tough as nails, folks)
Nicole, SO great to meet you and thanks for running up and down the hill with me. (PS, IOU a PD confab)
Drew, thanks for feeling my pain 'bout that Mountain Man breakfast.
Mike, Spaten Optimator and Corona??
Shawn, you are an all around great guy! <----- best 928 GT ever
AO, You're awesome! Will you be my speech writer? Very heartfelt.
David H, your Red GTS is the *****, man. Man, I could've fallen asleep in those leather seats.
Great to finally meet all you fine Wisconsin boys!
Darren, Rod, Afshin & Beatrix, Chris & Laurel, Barry, Constantine, Hans, Mike McCloud, Glen, James from TN... the best of folks!

One of my favorites.... (paraphrased)
I asked, "hey Tom, do you know what your total 928 horsepower is?"
"Never figured, he replied, but the average might me around 500."

Guys, he has like 6 of them...

Here's some of my favs. The reason the pics are mostly cars and not people is because I talk too much. You all know what I'm talkin' about.

Glen McCartney's excellent 32V

Boston Rick's clean clean OB 5speed

Maryland Bill's 79... w/GTS flares folks

Blue Ridge Parkway

Me @ 4220'

Nice driving Glenn...

YouTube Vid of the tail end of the parade (best I got)

800 miles total, 380 of the on the BRP..... 2 tickets. Not a bad weekend. See ya'll next year.

Jim, Thanks for sharing those pics! Glenn - you answered Annie's question of what these cars are capable of doing when you passed me and the guy on the Harley on the Bliue Ridge to catch-up with the Perl. I didn't want to push mine as I was having throw-out bearing problems and I think you may have been surprised when the oncoming traffic showed its face. I wish I could have recorded the whine of your engine as you slingshotted past us and out of the oncoming guy. The poor Harley driver was literally shakng when we saw him at the next intersection. haha! Annie just said something like "Oh my!"

I heard there were some 928s for sale at SITM. I was planning to go until about 8 weeks ago when I got a wedding invitation for that weekend and found out I had to work late Friday night...

If anyone is selling a 1986 1/2 or later, please message me, or if you know of some of the cars for sale :-)

Thank you in advance!

Michael

Default 18 hrs for 18 hrs

I'll add my kudos/thanks to our hosts, great event all went very smoothly and things were organized enough to avoid chaos, but loosely framed enough to allow for everyone to make the best use of their time. I'll try to add some pics....pardon the caliber they were taken with a disposable..and thus far I can't pull the ones off of my cell phone.
For part of the afternoon (post-deluge), I opted to go out and find a bit of the real community in lieu of Oz, I had fun on some hardpan mountain roads with both modest and grandiose homes ranging from tudor to alpine to contemporary designs. Better still, after literally driving to the end of one of the roads, I located a narrow and steep hiking path back up the hill, alongside the river.
Nice to get a taste of the area while still being in close proximity to the amenities and to all the great folks that make these events so appealing. Though I still have many, MANY folks to actually meet, and I'll look forward to future east coast events (SITM, Frenzy and Boston Shark Party) in order to do a bit better on that count.
So, who knew 928s came in '7up Red'?

Your pics prove once again, it is the guy pushing the button and not the camera, yours look every bit as good as mine, maybe better.

One thing that amazed me at the event was the number of people I met who were NOT Rennlist members....when asked what their Rennlist name was, they asked the whats/hows.....kind of like living next door to a porsche mechanic and not introducing yourself to your neighbor!

There were a bunch of Corvettes at Alcoa, same thing, most had never heard of the Corvette forum, but then again almost any mechanic can work on a Vette, not so with a 928.
