Dave & Jeannie,

THANK YOU for a great weekend! It was a great event, and loads of fun. The folks at the Best Western in Banner Elk couldn't have been more friendly or efficient, and everyone at Beech Mountain was just terrific.

Great venue, great organization, great event. Thank you for all of your hard work!!

And thank you, Andrew, our fearless leader for the Alcoa fun-run! ("I'm not the leader!"... "OK, you go first and we'll follow").

Once again we had an excellent time. Thankfully the weather was beautiful for most of the event, the new venue was terrific, the 928 parade was memorable, and the dinner at the Best Western was delicious. It was great catching up with old friends and finally being able to meet the faces behind the rennlist names. I hope everyone has a safe trip back and no one's car ends up on a flat bed like that '85. Great pictures, keep them coming! By chance, did anyone take a video of the 928 parade?

Yes I do.

I'll upload them tomorrow, the bandwidth via my cell-phone would take a while if I try and do it now (on I-65 in the middle of Indianapolis at the moment).

I was able to upload photos, so here are a few dozen more to browse through:

First off we have some Road Trippin pictures which included a stop over in Louisville and our arrival at the event:

Unloading the car - this was the first trip

Little breakfast.......

I have no idea what I ordered......I just wanted a cup of coffee with four shots of espresso to wake my *** up a bit.

This is what they brought me:

The main event

Part 2..

Few "action" shots on the way to 928 Specialists this morning.

Here are some photos from the "Land Of OZ" theme park.
This turned out to be much more than anyone expected. Per DR, they were just going to open up the gates and let us walk around. Instead, they put all a full show, it was awesome!! Everyone who attended had a blast.
The view from the park was worth the price of admission alone.

It all started with a hay ride to the top of the mountain.

Tim Murphy just called me, he's a hour south of Green Bay and he smacked a deer at 70mph with the 928.

Moments after he called, Lorelei almost hit one!!!!! WTF??

Tim and the 928 are fine, the hoofed rat fell down in front of the car and he literally ran it over. The lower front spoiler is wrecked and the engine compartment is full of deer parts and pieces.

Be safe everyone.

It's about time for me to resume driving duties for the Chicago / Milwaukee / home leg of our trip.

I wanted to make sure and give a great big thank you to Dave and Jeannie for putting on the event. It was great to see them and all of the other old 928 friends that I've gotten to know over the years, as well as meeting some new ones. It always seems like there's just never enough time to talk to them all enough, and that the event goes by too fast.

I've gone to a fair number of the different 928 events that have been held in different areas of the country over the years, and it really does seem like the quality of the cars just keeps getting better. This even event was no exception. There were some very nice cars there, and I don't think there was anyone there who didn't want to make their's better in some way, no matter what condition that it was in. There's no doubt that there are some real enthusiasts in the group.

Reading this thread and looking at the pictures, I think I just had a Porchegasm.
