It may be nice, but it doesn't have enough Porsche DNA. They would never, ever build this.
I think it has more Porsche DNA and style than several of the models that are being produced. (My two cents). Anyone that looks at it will instantly know its a Porsche.
It hits all of the right styling points from every angle and that is hard to do. I brings a lot of 928 and 911 together to give the car a very Porsche look and feel, with some of the classic 928 spirit.
Any of the engine offerings from the Panamera would be great, but could you imagine a new 928 with the Panamera Turbo S's 580hp in it? Especially if they can keep the curb weight under 3,400lbs. Just rolling out of the driveway would be like popping X, Viagra and Speed.
Don't like the front lights and slant. I like the rear and glass, but if you look at the 2nd side profile pic, that tall flat slab of sheetmetal with the small canopy makes just doesn't fit quite right. Makes the cabin canopy look too disproportional to the body sides. Could be better imho.
Yep... time to set a path other than paying homage to the (lesser) squashed Beetle. Lets not forget that top spot is now the 918 and not the 911/991. Perhaps headlights more like this:

With the ousting of Ferdinand Piech from Volkswagen, the Porsche brand may not have the resources for development of another platform.
That said, the Panamera Turbo S drivetrain (570 hp) could be tweaked and dovetailed into a clean sheet sporting coupe that could lead the re-design of the next-gen Panamera.
While we speculate and wait, the Aston Martin Vantage V8 is worthy of consideration.
